The 3 Things Every School Must Fix Before Marketing

Before you spend money on fliers and pisters or even street activation… pause.

If these 3 things are broken, marketing will only expose the problem faster
👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

1. Poor Parent Experience

- If parents feel ignored, confused, or undervalued, they won’t stay—or refer others.
- Slow response to enquiries = lost admissions.
- Disorganized communication creates frustration.
- Remember: your current parents are your strongest marketing channel. If they’re unhappy, your marketing won’t convert.

2. Unclear Value Proposition

- If you can’t clearly answer “Why should a parent choose your school?”—you’re not ready to market.
- Saying “we offer quality education” is not enough (every school says that).
- What makes your school really different? (Results? Care? Structure? Exposure?)
- Clarity sells. Confusion repels.

3. Weak Staff Structure

- If your team is not aligned, trained, or accountable, growth will break your system.
- More students + weak staff = chaos.
- No clear roles = poor delivery.
- Your staff are the ones fulfilling the promise your marketing makes.

Bottom line:
Marketing doesn’t fix problems—it amplifies them.

Fix your foundation first, then your marketing will finally start working.

Which of these 3 is your biggest challenge right now?

Enrollment is not luck.

It is not “God touched their heart.”

It is strategy.

And once you understand it, your results will change.

If you can confidently talk about your school…

If you can clearly show parents why your school is the right choice for their kids…

If you can tell stories that make your school come alive…

If you can present your school in a way that builds trust instantly…

If you can communicate your value with clarity,
confidence, and conviction…

Then the growth game is rigged in your favour.

Enrollment will no longer be a struggle — it will become predictable.

Growth is not just about what you offer.
It’s about how you communicate what you offer.

This is the difference between schools that are half-empty…
and schools that will be full even before resumption.

And that’s exactly what I’ll be teaching in the upcoming webinar:

GROWTH GAME PLAN – Pre-Resumption Strategies To Prepare and Position Your School For Enrollment Surge

This is not theory.
This is a practical, proven approach to help you:
• Position your school so parents want in
• Communicate your value in a way that converts
• Fill your seats before resumption

If you’re tired of hoping for enrollment…
and you’re ready to engineer it…
Then this is for you.

Parents are paying for education every single day.

But just… not your in school.

Let that sink in.

But you can do something about it

What if I don’t actually know how to grow my school?

This is one conversation many school owners are avoiding—but desperately need.

If we strip away the “we’re doing well” front…

Many school owners are ashamed to admit the fact that they lack the skill and strategies to grow their school business.

You can hear things like:
“The economy is hard”
“Parents don’t value education anymore”
“There’s too much competition, too many school around”
“People just want cheap schools”

But underneath all of these comaplaints is a deeper fear:

“What if my growth is based on luck, referrals, or timing… and I don’t have a repeatable system ?”

And this fear shows up in subtle ways like
📌Inconsistent enrolment every term
📌Panic marketing during admissions season
📌Copying what other schools are doing
📌Over-discounting fees to attract parents
📌Feeling threatened when a new school opens nearby.

When you don’t have a clear, predictable enrolment system, your school growth becomes unstable, stressful and out of your control.

A lot of school owners might not agree with me on this, but the fact is:
Enrollment growth is not a mystery problem.
It’s a system problem.
And most school owners were never taught from onset.

Some just started figuring it out.

The moment a school owner moves from:
“I hope parents come”
to
“I have a system that brings parents consistently”

Everything changes.
Confidence increases
Revenue stabilizes
Decisions become strategic, not desperate.

So permit me to ask you today,

What is your biggest enrollment fear ?

A beautiful morning to you, dear school owner,

Welcome to another week of hustling and bustling.
Step into the week with confidence to defeat any challenge that might confront your peace.

I know you put in a lot of work into your school to make things work, just because of the passion you have for education,

But you know, passion is not all there is to running a school business, passion alone won't work. You need systems and structure to sustain a thriving school business.

Your system is your people, your process, your purpose, and your (technological) tools, all working together and at the same time.

This week, let's focus on your system. Commit to auditing your systems and identifying areas for improvement.

Remember, a well-managed school not only provides quality education but also ensures sustainable growth.

Let's build a school that is not just a centre of learning but also a model of efficient and effective business management.

One of my Aburos Onero was gisting me about how content creators achieve virality in their videos, and one of the strategies he highlighted was collaboration.
He gave me an instance of music artists featuring in comedy skits and stuff like that.

Right after that discussion, I went online and the first video I bumped into was one of Aproko Doctor videos featuring Klint da Drunk, just to pass a message of the dangers of alcohol.

A few days later I saw a post from my beloved sister Blessing Ojile talking about the same collaboration, but now in the education sector, which we lack a lot.

One of the things that stood out for me in that her post is the AI image she used to portray the message of the post.

What does that go to say?

I think you need to go check out the post again here

One of the advantages of collaboration is that it increases revenue.

What did the bible say again about chasing one thousand, and what happens when the number of chasers increase ?

Just go read it shaa,
👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
Deuteronomy 32: 30

This bible verse is simply talking about the outcome of collaboration.

But wait, you know you can only collaborate with people with the same purpose, mindset and focus.

Can I find these people in your Power circle❓

Sometime last year I had a business conversation with one of my coaching clients Blessing Olijie. It was an intensive clarity session concerning her school business.
From staffing to parents, curricula content, and school structural design, there was nothing we didn't talk about.
She needed that session, she needed a listening ear and I was available.

At the end of the 2hrs intensive session, I felt the relief in her spirit, -like a heavy burden lifted off her shoulders. She was happy.

But guess what, I was fulfilled I could help.

Guess what again, I also learnt a lot from here.

I was inspired and proud of the impact she was making with her school 's Academy in Badagry.

Today, one of the things I learnt from her in that discussion which I implemented this term is one of my second term's RHEMA and light bulb 💡 . I'm glad we have that discussion.

Now we have gone from client to partners to sisterhood,- that is the power of collaboration.

Now we can hardly develop any business plan and idea without thinking and running it through the other party, not for validation, but for input.

When we talk about power circle, it is not just about being a part of a private WhatsApp group (that one follow Shaa), it is beyond a physical group. It is having your list of quality and passionate co-business-minded people on your speed dial for emotional, physical, psychological, spiritual and even financial support.

It is about collaborating on projects and ideas, sharing strength and even standing in the gap for each other.

It's about planning an exchange program together-(this one is sharking me like maaad)-Details loading...

It's all about having each other in mind and even lifting them up in prayers even when all is going well.

Your power circle is your inspiration pill, your energy booster.

Who is in your power circle❓

Who are you collaborating with for your school growth❓

This is your weekend, Ponder-Wonder.

If you desire to be a part of one, just comment POWER and I will send you the link.

I saw a post by Mrs . It was a stimulated mentoring session where she cloned herself to act like a client talking to a coach.

In that post, the client expressed how she desires to go into manufacturing but does not know or like Marketing

Ahhggghhh!!! 😡

Biggest error. 🚫⚠️

You want to do business but you don't want to do marketing. Let catch you.

It reminded me of one experience I had some time ago.

Ahh, Beulah!
You sabi gist shaa.

You too, you sabi read shaa🤣🤣🤣

Keep reading jare, it gives me the energy to gist you more😜🤦💃

Ok, back to the gist.

So I walked into a friend's office who is also a school owner and I saw her talking with prospective parent.

The receptionist had ushered me in without protocol since she was my friend, even though she had a guest in her office.

I came in on an appointment so she begged me to wait a bit and let her finish up with the prospect. She wanted me to wait in the office while she interacted with the prospect.

On hearing prospect, my money-making veins got activated.

No problem dear, I'll wait at the reception till you are done.

I needed to help her make the prospect feel important and wanted in the school.

Besides, anything to seal this admission, I'm up for it.

I didn't want the prospect to feel like he had been rushed or discarded because of another person waiting (who is not even a customer).

In ten munited she was done and she sent for me.

I got into her office and 10 minutes into our discussion, the receptionist came to tell her that another prospect wanted to see her.

"Why does he want to see me, handle him naa? she told her receptionist.

Ma, I'm through with him, he is ok with the bill I gave, but he said he just wants to clarify some things about the curriculum from you directly, seeing that your car is parked outside and the security man had already told the parent that brought him, that you are in.

But you can see I have a visitor, tell them to ...

I didn't allow my friend to finish the statement, I just faced the receptionist

"Biko go and bring them in" I ordered her.

While she left, I just did a 2-minute brain reset for my friend.

An old parent referred someone and even went as far as bringing in the person by himself, you need to grant them audience biko.

He had finished enquiries, and decided to pay, but has not paid.

O baby, this is your card to make him pull out his phone and initiate a transfer.

His wanting to see you is to concretise whatever your marketing team (receptionist) has done.

He is looking for double assurance to validate his decision,

And you don't want to oblige him?

Mbanu!🙆🚫⚠️

Haba!⚠️⚠️⚠️

Dear School Owner, Insisde marketing, emotional intelligence dey. There's a lot more about gestures, attitudes, body language and disposition than even the words you speak.

Immediately they walked in, she introduced me as a friend, a fellow school owner, and a coursemate in a master's program she is running. We both engaged the man in a deep edu convo. The education system in Nigeria, the effort by private schools and a whole lot more. The men were thrilled and satisfied

The small two-minute head setting I gave her before the parents walked in worked well, and the prospect did the transfer right there in her office before they left. Even the old parent that referred also paid his fees completely and collected his referral discount. That was the first place I learned about a referral discount

Oga boss,

Don't be too busy with other(irrelevant) things that you use your hands to scare away your prospective parents.
You are the chief marketing officer of your school, do the convincing when you have to. There's more conviction in your voice than any marketing manager.

It's your vision, and so your style and spice of marketing will be different.

At least I chop 10k fuel from the money that day, for helping her close that admission.

You like the gist abi you no like am?
😜📌🤦
