Some fun facts to help you accept that you are not the only one who makes mistakes when presenting.

These are my favorite but there are a lot of options that you can choose from.

One thing to keep in mind - You must understand the basics of design and PowerPoint it helps you work better with any tool you decide to go with.

I know how tempting it can be to go over what you have to say quickly, especially when you can see your audience is not hanging onto your words as they should.

However, that temptation will not help you. The whole point of the presentation is to pass along the knowledge you have. You can not pass that knowledge with you speaking fast.

Your audience will not comprehend what you are saying because instead of them absorbing what you say they are using all their energy to try to catch your words as they fly past.

Speak calmly and the rate at which your audience retains whatever you say will improve greatly.

I remember when I used to work in the bank, I was in the marketing department, and every day we had to go out to meet with clients to tell them about the different products that the bank had to offer to customers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I remember we would go as a team and once we get to the proposed clients office we would introduce ourselves and then go on to talk about all the bank products – we weren't particularly interested in what the client needed we just focused on letting them know that we had the best interest rates and they should move their money to our bank. ⠀

I see this scenario still play out today, especially for people in sales – they are not particularly interested in what their clients need; they are more product-driven.
There is a widespread assumption in organizations that salespeople – ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

-Rarely deliver presentations⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Already know how to present⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-When they present they are good at it⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In every sales meeting, there are critical presentation opportunities that are poorly executed or even avoided simply because the sales team does not understand how to present persuasively.

When your products are wrongly presented consistently by your sales team – Your sales will slump, innovation slows down, the motivation and morale of the team will shrink.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you want to your sales team to be “presentation-ready” in front of your customers you can solve this by investing in them, send them for communication and presentation skills training and watch your sales skyrocket.

Did you know?

People naturally read anything they see from left to right / top to bottom.

You want to place the important things to the left of the slide since that is where they will likely look first. f the graphic has an importance to the content and isn't just a filler image, I usually suggest placing it on the left.

One of the major challenges I faced as a trainer earlier in my career, was having to teach the same topic over and over again. I got so used to my topic that I stop bothering myself with preparing, after all, I could recite it even in my sleep.

Presentations can go stale too. If you sound bored giving your presentation, you can be 100% certain that your audience will be bored with your presentation, too.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You may be presenting your content for the 100th time, but your audience is hearing it for the first time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You may be hearing a question for the 100th time, but your audience member is asking it for the first time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You can change it up and use ad-libs to keep yourself interested, but don’t lose the structure and intent of the presentation — and never lose respect for your audience when doing so.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
