CURRENT OR OUTDATED, WHERE ARE YOU?

When I spoke with Ese in 2017 on the need for his own personal development, he gave a pompous reply
“I am now a manager in my company and I’m well paid, with a car and a house. For now I don’t need to learn any other skill for personal development.”

That response was awkward but I kept quiet
In 2018, new staffs were employed in the company so he called me one day and said,
“Rita, there is this young guy we just employed, that guy is very good with IT work ooo, anyway I am still the manager and he is under me.”

Not too long afterwards, the MD of the company noticed the great improvement in the organization, so he made an inquiry and was told about the input of that young guy who is good with IT work, which had a positive impact on the company’s income.

The MD invited the young man without the manager’s knowledge, his salary was reviewed and was given added responsibility to oversee other departments.
The Manager got to know about this and confronted the MD that the young man promotion was too early.

By the next month, the MD made the young guy the Branch head- he was placed over ‘Manager’ Ese.

If you were Ese what will you do?

Every company likes assets and they spot them when they arrive. Be sure to retain your position in your organisation by a continuous personal development.
If you are out dated or irrelevant, time will tell and it is either you are replaced or sacked.

HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD FOCUS ON HIS/HER STUDIES (part 3)

This is a continuation of part 2,call to see part one and two of this article

Reducing distractions can improve a child’s focus.
We live in a world full significant distraction and children
are the most vulnerable to this distraction due to technological
advancement; Phone, games, internet and others.

So, how exactly can you as a parent help your child to reduce distractions?

1. BY REMOVING GADGET FROM THE STUDENT:

Removing gadget from the student is essential for the child to focus during study
, unless they are a part of the educational materials being used,
even as that , it should be controlled. For example,
if the child must use the system or tab for studying at a particular time,
then there should be no internet. Sometimes,
the child might need internet to do research,
you can add parental control to the device or monitor what the child is doing.

2. CHILDREN SHOULD ALSO STUDY AT DEDICATED STUDY AREAS:

Children should also study at dedicated study areas that are far from
televisions and other electronical gadgets.
When your child is studying, make sure he/she is doing it with the TV,
computer and mobile phone off.
Just make sure you help your child to minimize distraction.
