HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!
"I guess I told you all I took a teaching job last year in the same school I graduated from many years ago. I woke up this morning and saw this e-flier (which has been printed and placed somewhere).

'The best achievement in life is to be of great impact anywhere you find yourself'.

I noticed the pictures the graphic designer used for the e-flier were all taken by my team (some students) and I.

I am not only proud to have been so useful to this generation, but I am proud because I know they will build more on the legacy I have started". -

This is Master-key Schools.
We give your child the best education.

Once again, Happy Teacher's Day!

A STORY WRITTEN BY OPEYEMI OJERINDE, A JSS 2 STUDENT OF MASTERKEY COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL.

******************************
TITLE: THE THREE BEST FRIENDS

*****************************
Once upon a time, there was a town called Okako. The families who lived in the small town were the Ogunyemis, the Fadegbaires and the Olanrewajus
Each family had one daughter - Ogunyemi Eniola, Fadegbaire Olamide and Olanrewaju Ayomide.
The three daughters were close friends, who attended same school, and were equally in same class. Ogunyemi's family was not so rich unlike the two other families.

One faithful day, Eniola was about to go to school when her mum told her she didn't have money to prepare breakfast, but she promised to get her something before she would return from school.
Eniola left home without eating. When she got to school, she was ravenous that she couldn't pay attention in class. Her friends, Olamide and Ayomide, noticed this and went to her to find out the cause of her ennui . She explained to them about her family's financial status, and told them she had not taken anything that day. Her friends couldn't afford to see her stay hungry, they gave her one hundred and fifty naira ( #150) out of their lunch money. She was so happy. She appreciated them and got something to eat.
As they were returning to class after lunch, Olamide told Eniola to visit her later in the evening.

When Eniola got home, her mum told her there was nothing to eat because her dad couldn't get anything from the farm to sell. Eniola told her mum not to worry, and she explained how her friends helped her.

Her mum was thrilled and she decided to follow Eniola to Olamide's house to show her appreciation, as Olamide has told her to visit in the evening...

BASIC FACTS OF EDUCATION
As teachers/trainers, we must always understand these facts. Many students find it very difficult to understand some subjects because of these reasons:

1. As a teacher, have you really been teaching willingly, without allowing your salary determine your teaching level?

2. Do you break down the topics in such a way they will be easily understood?

3. In terms of discipline, have you been making your class so strict, thereby not giving your students opportunity to exercise their freedom?

Having mentioned some reasons students fail to learn, here are things to be done:

1. For you to enjoy teaching job or whatever you do, you must love it. Make it something you want to do everyday without considering the salary you get.

2. Don't make your class too boring and strict. Some students tend to get carried away when the class becomes too strict and boring. If there is need to add some humours during the class, do that, pls. This helps to bring the students' attentions back to the class.

3. Know your students. You must be able to know the level of understanding of each student. Truth be told, these students have different ways of assimilation.

4. Always motivate your students. You don't have to make them have the mindset they can't be brilliant like others. Encourage them always.

5. Always create time to have personal discussion with them. Trust me, you would think they are too young to be distracted by relationship or other mental problems, but some do.

THANKS FOR READING THESE FACTS & TIPS

BACK TO SCHOOL
As an alumnus of MASTER KEY SCHOOLS (MKS), and presently a worker, I decided to wear my old school uniform to work. It was such a great moment with everyone.

Check the video to see the reactions of the students and management. Aside from their reactions towards my dress, I presented a gift to the Best English Language students of the year. These are students who have convinced me they are the future Prof. Wole Soyinka of their generation.
