The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence on Friday, January 31, 2026, and conclude on Wednesday, March 5, 2026. This period is crucial for prospective candidates to complete their registration and prepare for the examination.

🗓️OAU Post-UTME/DE 2025: 2025 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening exercise will commence on Monday, 21st July and *end on Sunday, 24th August, 2025.*

🗓️UNN Post-UTME/DE 2025: The online registration has commenced and will *end at midnight, Friday August 15, 2025.*

🗓️OOU Post-UTME application deadline, 2025/2026: *The deadline is 15th August 2025.*

🗓️UNIDEL extends Post-UTME/DE registration exercise, 2025/2026: The University of Delta Post-UTME *Screening for 2025/2026 Academic Session has been extended to Wednesday 13th August, 2025.*

🗓️FUHSI Post-UTME 2025: *Registration Closing date is Tuesday 26th August 2025.* Registration for the 2025/2026 admission exercise will commence on Tuesday, 5th August 2025.

🗓️KWASU Post-UTME/DE 2025: CLOSING DATE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION: *Sunday, 17th August 2025.*

🗓️Federal Poly, Bida (IBBUL affiliated) Post-UTME 2025: Federal Polytechnic, Bida Affiliated to Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL) Post-UTME screening exercise is scheduled to commence on Monday, 11th August, 2025 and *end Friday, 26th. September, 2025.*

🗓️UNIPORT Post-UTME: UNIPORT extends registration Deadline for 2025/2026: The online registration portal *will close at midnight on Thursday, 14th August, 2025.*

🗓️UNICAL Post-UTME/DE 2025: Please note that the portal will however be shut down at 12.00 mid night on Monday August 04, 2025

🗓️NDU Post-UTME 2025: Registration deadline is August 15th, 2025.

🗓️AKSU Post-UTME/DE 2025: The University portal for online registration will open from Monday, 21 July, 2025 to Friday, *ends 29th August, 2025.*

🗓️KASU Post-UTME/DE 2025: The registration exercise will commenced on Friday, July 18, 2025, and *ended on July 31, 2025.*

🗓️FUPRE Post-UTME 2025: Application Starts: Sunday 20th July, 2025. *Closing Date: Friday 22nd

Vice-Chancellors of universities have adopted 150 as the minimum cut-off score for the 2025/2026 academic admission.

Rectors of Polytechnics and Provosts of Colleges of Education and Agriculture also picked 100 as the minimum admissible score, while Colleges of Nursing adopted 140.

This was the outcome of the 2025 Policy Meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

The 150 score by heads of universities is 10 points higher than the 140 adopted in 2024.

JAMB Registrar, Professor Ish-aq Oloyede, made the announcement on Monday, noting that the figures reflect a consensus reached by relevant stakeholders in the education sector.

At *the same event, Professor Oloyede also revealed that Lagos State University (LASU), the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) emerged as the most preferred institutions among candidates in the 2025/2026 admission cycle.*

In a related development, JAMB also unveiled the top scorers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). *Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State recorded the highest score with 375 out of 400 and selected* UNILAG to study Mechanical Engineering. He was followed by Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State who scored 374 and chose Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), also for Mechanical Engineering. The third top scorer, Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State, scored 373 and also selected UNILAG for the same course.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has officially set the minimum age for admission into tertiary institutions at 16 years. The announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during the opening session of the JAMB Policy Meeting on Tuesday.

“The issue of age at entry has generated much debate, but our position is clear. The entry age for admission is now officially pegged at 16 years,” Alausa said.
