CORPUS CHRISTI 2026

Today, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Corpus Christi—the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

This feast is a bold proclamation of our faith that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol, but Jesus Christ Himself, truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. As Christ declared at the Last Supper: “This is my body… this is my blood” (Mt. 26:26–28).

As Catholics, we gather in adoration and thanksgiving for this priceless gift through which Christ continues to dwell among His people.

For us in the Diocese of Idah, the reported bleeding of the Blessed Sacrament in Ankpa remains a profound reminder of the mystery of the Real Presence and an invitation to deepen our faith in the Eucharistic Lord.

May this celebration renew our love for the Blessed Sacrament and strengthen our conviction that Jesus is truly with us in the Holy Eucharist.

O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.

ST. NORBERT, PRAY FOR US 🙏🏼

From worldly privilege to heroic holiness, St. Norbert answered God’s call with courage and transformed countless lives through faith, service, and devotion to the Eucharist.

May his example inspire us to seek Christ above all things.

St. Norbert, pray for us.

St. Kizito, the youngest of the Ugandan Martyrs, remains a timeless witness to youthful courage, purity, and unwavering faith in Christ. Though young in age, he demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the Gospel, choosing fidelity to God above all else.

Inspired by these virtues, Bishop Ephraim Silas Obot founded St. Kizito Minor Seminary in 1982 as a place where young boys could be formed intellectually, morally, spiritually, and pastorally. Since then, the seminary has continued to nurture generations of young men for service to God, the Church, and society.

As we mark this year’s feast, we renew our commitment to the ideals of our patron saint and the vision of our founder: to become men of faith, integrity, courage, and selfless service.

St. Kizito, pray for us.

Hail Saint Kizito, the home of the humble… Hail Saint Kizito, where vocations thrive…

As we celebrate the Feast of our heavenly patron, we proudly sing the anthem that defines who we are and what we strive to become.

Our anthem is more than a song; it is a pledge of commitment to honesty, sincerity, hard work, prayer, and the pursuit of priestly vocation. It reminds us that St. Kizito Minor Seminary is a place where young boys are formed to know God, serve His Church, and grow into responsible leaders for society.

Today, we lift our voices in gratitude for the gift of St. Kizito, for the vision of Bishop Ephraim Silas Obot, and for the enduring legacy of our seminary.

“Oh, how wonderful it will be, if we all reach our aim.”

Happy Feast Day to the entire St. Kizito family!

🎭👑 DRAMA PRESENTATION: THE CROWNING OF AYEGBA

One of the most captivating moments of the 2026 Cultural Day Celebration was the dramatic reenactment of a significant chapter in Igala history, the emergence of Ayegba as Attah Igala.

Drawing from historical tradition, the presentation portrayed the events following the death of the reigning Attah, when his eldest son, Atiele, was absent from the kingdom. In accordance with the circumstances of the time, the crown was bestowed upon his younger brother, Ayegba, whose reign would later leave an indelible mark on the history of the Igala Kingdom.

Through compelling acting, traditional costumes, and powerful storytelling, our students brought this remarkable historical episode to life, reminding us of the richness of our heritage and the importance of preserving the stories that shaped our identity.

At St. Kizito Minor Seminary, Cultural Day is more than entertainment, it is an opportunity to educate, inspire, and reconnect with our roots.

📸 Here are some highlights from the drama presentation.

Stay tuned for more pictures and videos from the various cultural displays, performances, exhibitions, and activities that made the 2026 Cultural Day Celebration a memorable success.

HAPPY PENTECOST SUNDAY 🕊️

The Church celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the birth of the Church’s public mission today.

The many languages heard at the first Pentecost were not signs of confusion, but signs of unity in divine love one faith proclaimed to all nations through the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4).

In the same spirit today, our Seminarians wear their respective cultural attires in place of the Uniforms manifesting the beauty and universality of the Church; many cultures, yet one faith; many peoples, yet one Spirit.

Veni Sancte Spiritus!

Happy Pentecost Sunday Beloved Sons and Daughters of God. 🥳🙏
