The Oyo State National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) held its 2025 Handover, Sendforth and Awards Day on October 1, 2025, at Labamba Hotel, Oyo Town. The event was a grand celebration of leadership, service, and dedication to the cause of quality education and child development in Oyo State.
The highlight of the occasion was the celebration of the achievements of Dr. Mary Odedare, the immediate past President of NAPPS Oyo State, whose visionary leadership, commitment, and inclusive style left an indelible mark on the association. Her tenure was characterized by remarkable progress, unity among members, and impactful programs aimed at strengthening private education across the state.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to several eminent personalities who have contributed significantly to child development and educational advancement in Oyo State. Notably, Her Royal Majesty, Ayaba Abiwumi Owoade, the Olori of the Alaafin of Oyo, was honoured with the prestigious Child’s Advocate Award of Excellence in recognition of her tireless advocacy and support for children’s welfare and education.
The event was attended by school proprietors, educators, dignitaries, and stakeholders from various parts of the state, and the nation. It was a moment of joy, reflection, and appreciation—celebrating the sacrifices of past leaders, strengthening bonds within the association, and ushering in a new era of purposeful leadership.
