Today, the calendar marks another journey around the sun. For this man, it is more than a celebration; it is a profound moment of stillness, a silent testament. He stands, not looking forward with anxious eyes, but looking upward, face turned to the heavens, basking in a light that feels both celestial and personal.
This is not the posture of someone bracing for the future. It is the posture of a man who knows, deep in his bones, that he doesn't walk alone. He is carried.
He is a man carried by God’s Grace, and the most beautiful part is, he knows it. He has felt its lift in the hard times and its gentle push in the good ones. He has seen doors open that had no business opening and storms calm that threatened to overwhelm. He has learned that his own striving has a limit, and that's precisely where a divine strength takes over.
So on his birthday, he doesn't make demands. He doesn't grip the wheel of his life tighter. He does this.
He plants his feet, lays his hands over his heart; as if to quiet the noise of the world and feel the steady rhythm of a life he does not manage alone, and he lifts his chin. This pose is his gratitude. It’s his prayer. It’s a complete and total surrender, a exhale of all his worries and all his plans.
In this moment, his heart says what his lips do not need to:
"God, I am here. I am yours. Go on, be in charge. I'll just keep my calm and watch You do your thing. I’ve seen your work, and it is good. I trust you with the year to come, just as I thank you for the years gone by. I will rest here, in your Grace, and just... watch."
