Fadairo, HOS, PS, Judge, UI VC, Alayande VC, OYSCATECH Rector, AOPE Registrar, Bursar, FCE Okene Bursar, Olaewe, others make list of Honorees at Ibarapa Stakeholders Grand Reception and Recognition Ceremony

A grand reception and recognition Ceremony was on Saturday, August 22, 2026 organised in honour of Ibarapa Sons and Daughters who have distinguished themselves in Public and Civil Service, Leadership, Academic, Security and National Development.

The grand reception and recognition ceremony organized by Ibarapa Critical stakeholders Forum (ICSF) brought distinguished Sons and Daughters and Stakeholders who have excelled in their chosen career together, across the seven towns of Ibarapa including the Principal Honoree, the Head of Public and Civil Service of Oyo State, Dr. Adenike Fasina.

In his address of welcome, the coordinator, ICSF described the forum as a non-partisan, inclusive and community oriented platform, established to bring together, eminent Sons and Daughters of Ibarapa, Professionals, Traditional Leaders, Public and Civil Servants, Academics, Business Leaders, Community development Advocates and other Stakeholders committed to the advancement of Ibarapa land.

The Coordinator revealed that the vision of ICSF is to build a united, progressive, prosperous, and development conscious Ibarapa, where the talent, achievements, and collective strength of its people are harnessed for the benefit of present and future generations.

The Forum commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the confidence reposed in Dr. Adenike Fasina by appointing her as the Head of Public and Civil Service of Oyo State, while acknowledging other notable sons and Daughters of Ibarapa land for representing the Ibarapa community well.

In his words, “this is not the first time that Ibarapa son and daughter will be appointed as Head of Service; in the past Ibarapa had produced two Head of Service namely; Mr Samson Gboyega Olaoye and Pastor (Mrs) Modupe Akinbode who served as the Father and Mother of the occasion respectively.”

The Ibarapa Critical Stakeholders Forum called for greater collaboration among stakeholders towards building enduring partnerships that can translate collective ideas and good will into measurable development outcomes.

In her address, the Head of Public and Civil Service (HOS) of Oyo State appreciated the Ibarapa Critical Stakeholders for organizing a grand reception in her honour and for recognizing distinguished notable Son and Daughters of Ibarapa who have excelled and occupied leadership position.
The HOS called on Workers in the State to remain committed and dedicated to duty.

The Head of Service was conferred with Grand Distinguished Public Service Award while other distinguished Honorees were conferred with Distinguished Public Service Recognition Award.

Responding on behalf of the Honorees, the 14th Vice Chancellor for the University of Ibadan, Prof. Peter Olamakinde Olapegba commended the ICSF for their initiative, while assuring that they will not relent in exhibiting excellence in their respective places of assignment.

The Honorees are Major General Ayobami Fadairo, the General Officer Commanding 82 Mechanized Division, Nigerian Army, Enugu, the Head of Public and Civil Service of Oyo State, Dr. Adenike Fasina, Permanent Secretary, Local Government Sector, Ibrapa Zone, Dr. (Mrs.) Kafilat Adefunke Hamzat, Prince Imran Adegoke Adenrele, Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Civil Service, Mr. Muyiwa Sunday Olagoke, PS. Oyo State Civil Service and Mr. Zacheaus Olawale Olaniyan, PS. Tutor General, Oyo State Post Primary Schools Teaching Commission.

Other Honorees are Mr. Biliaminu Aderinto, PS. Inspector General of Education, Mr. Oluwatosin Aderibigbe, PS. Inspector General of Education, Ibarapa Education Zone, Hon. Justice Yemi Saubana Adekunle, Judge, Oyo State High Court of Justice, Dr. Mofoluwake Ibitoye, PS. Ministry of Information, Mr. Jacob Olusegun Olaewe, Bursar, Federal College of Education, Okene, Mrs. Adejuwon Bolatito Sekinat, Bursar, Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.

Also, the Vice Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande, University of Education, Oyo, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan, the Rector, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi, CP. Hammed Sule, Force Communication Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, the 14th Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Peter Olamakinde Olapegba, Engr. Olufemi Emmanuel Dare, Federal Controller of Works, Lagos State and Mrs. Funmilayo Bosede Akintunde, Registrar, Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.

The Grand Reception and Award ceremony was chaired by Mr. S. O. Oladeni, Chairman, Eruwa Elders Council and Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi, former Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Oyo State.

The event was well attended by the His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin 1, Eleruwa of Eruwa, HRM. Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye, Asorolu Ayinla V, the Olu of Igboora land, HRM Oba Alhaji Rafiu Adeniyi Olaniyi, Ariwoola Aako II, the Asigangan of Igangan land and distinguished Sons and Daughters of Ibarapa land.

With a heavy heart but in submission to the will of the Almighty God, the Rector, Prof. Akinola, Akinlabi on behalf of the Governing Council and Management regret to announce the sudden death of Mr. Ojeniyi, Samson Adebanji of Crop Production Department whose sad event occurred on 12th May, 2026 barely three months after the death of his wife.

The Rector in his condolence letter has therefore expresses his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends, Crop Production and Security Department and the entire Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora Community. Prof. Akinlabi noted that the vacuum created by his death will be difficult to fill.

He prayed the Almighty God to grant the entire friends, family and the institution the fortitude to bear irreparable loss.

Until his death, Mr. Ojeniyi Samson was a Senior Technologist in the Crop Production Department. He joined the services of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora in August, 2012 as Patrol Man II and became an Academic Staff upon conversion into the Technologist Cadre in 2018 wherein he rose to the position of Senior Technologist in the department of Crop Production.

The late Mr. Samson Ojeniyi had Higher National Diploma and National Diploma in Crop Production from the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora between 2014-2016.

He also had Nigeria Certificate of Education in 2006 at the Federal College of Education Special, Oyo and Teacher’s Grade II Certificate in 2003.

The late Mr. Samson Ojeniyi doubles as Field Officer I at the Crop Operation Directorate.

He hailed from Iganna in Iwajowa Local Government of Oyo State.

He will be remembered for his dedication and faithfulness to duty.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

He will be buried by 3:00pm today, 13th May, 2026 at Iganna.

OYSCATECH to Partner L-PRES on Pasture Development ,Artificial Insemination others

The Management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 played host to Oyo State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) Team, led by its coordinator, Alhaji Kola Kazeem.

The Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi expressed the readiness of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora to partner with the L-PRESS on pasture development.

The Rector explained that the institutions will provide the needed support towards the actualization of the project.

In his address, the Oyo State Coordinator for L-PRES, Alhaji Kola Kazeem revealed that the purpose of the visit was to discuss partnership arrangement on the establishment of pasture in the institution.

Mr. Kola Kazeem expressed optimism that the project will be beneficial to the institution, the community, students and youth at large.

According to him, the project which will be on partnership basis will be hinged on agribusiness principle.

He noted that the project would assist farmers in the provision of feeds for their livestock towards solving the problem of Farmer-Herders clashes.

The L-PRES Coordinator commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his vision of transforming agriculture in the State, while noting that the Governors initiative will create more jobs for the teeming youth and entrepreneur, whose eyes will be opened to invest in pastoral sector.

He praised the Executive Governor of Oyo State for choosing OYSCATECH and Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso as institutions within the State that must benefit from the project.

He revealed that the 50 hectare pasture area will be developed as modern pasture which will comprise of irrigation, sheds, solar powered light and facilities that will enhance the pasture development which will be secured through fencing.

Leading the OYSCATECH delegation on the project, the Dean, Faculty of Animal and Fisheries Technology and Director of Livestock, Dr. Mutiu Mosobalaje while speaking on the journey so far explained that the OYSCATECH representatives have participated in different workshops.

He expatiated that under the L-PRES, OYSCATECH has been chosen to benefit from two projects which include,; the donation of artificial insemination kit and the use of OYSCATECH as artificial insemination centre and training hub, while the second is the establishment of 50 Hectare pasture that will equally serve as training centre and field resource hub which will serve as source generating fund for the institution.

Dr. Wasiu Raheem, the Deputy Rector, Mr. R.F.A. Adeniji, Registrar,
Mr. Modupe Ogundapo, the Bursar, Mr. Rasak Oyewo, the Acting Librarian,
Engr. Agboola David, the Director of Works and Services, Mr. O.B. Gbadamosi, Deputy Registrar, Personnel & Secretary to Management.
