It looks fine… until you try to sort, filter, or calculate.

Professional Excel users 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 in data tables.

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 is Typing numbers directly inside formulas instead of using cell references.
It works once… then breaks everything later.

you can 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝘀.

If your table has headings like Name, Score, Date —
freeze the top row so it stays visible while you scroll.

𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗽:
👉 View → Freeze Panes → Freeze Top Row
