CSACEFA Oyo State Coalition Meeting Recap β August 27, 2025
On Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, the CSACEFA Oyo State Coalition convened for a pivotal meeting that spotlighted advocacy, accountability, and action in the education sector. The session opened at 11:06 AM with prayers led by Mr. Moshood, followed by formal adjuration by Alhaji I.G Yusuf and seconded by Adekunle Opeyemi.
Key Highlights:
- π Our Position Paper on reducing Out-of-School Children in Oyo State was recognized as one of the top 11 submissions nationwide! Mr. Moshood emphasized the importance of practical, not theoretical, solutions in advocacy work.
- π¬ Alhaji I.G Yusuf praised the achievement and proposed a September think tank session to refine and amplify these outstanding papers.
- πΈ Members raised concerns over the lack of enforcement of UBEC and Oyo State policies regarding street hawking and basic education rights. The question remains: Why is the law not being enforced?
- π« Updates on the EU-UNESCO supported project revealed that implementation is still pending, with ICT sensitization currently underway.
- π° Mr. Moshood reported that despite visiting listed schools, no visible progress has been made on the N10b+ renovation projects. Transparency and accountability remain urgent priorities.
- π¦ Financial updates included the remission of NCAOOSCE project funds to CSACEFA National, with a minor correction pending on the cheque date.

We are pleased to announce that the Oyo State Chapter of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education For All (CSACEFA) has officially submitted a Position Paper titled:
"HOW TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF OUT-OF-SCHOOL CHILDREN IN OYO STATE"
This document outlines practical, evidence-based strategies to tackle the Out-of-School Children (OOSC) challenge in our state, and has been prepared in line with our mandate to advocate for quality, inclusive, and equitable education for all.

Oyo State CSACEFA Monthly Meeting β July Edition

The Oyo State chapter of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) held its July monthly meeting to review ongoing education projects, address challenges, and strategize for improved educational outcomes in the state.
Key discussions included:

Developing a Position Paper on mopping up Out-of-School Children (OOSC) in Oyo State, to be submitted to the State House of Assembly.
β
Updates on the EU-UNESCO Project, the upcoming Early Child Learning Advancement Program (E-CLAP) Phase 2, and follow-up on the N10b+ School Renovation Projects.
β
Field challenges encountered during the NCAOOSCE Project and the need for better coordination, safety, and community sensitization.
β
Plans to monitor the UBEC-SUBEB projects and demand accountability from relevant agencies.
The meeting reaffirmed our commitment to advocating for quality, inclusive, and equitable education for all children in Oyo State. Special appreciation to all members who shared insights, experiences, and recommendations.

Oyo State CSACEFA Restructuring & Revival Meeting
On 14th May 2025, members of the Oyo State Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) gathered at A-Z Hall, Educate Trust Youth Centre, Aerodrome GRA, Ibadan to resuscitate and restructure the coalition towards promoting quality education in the state.
π Registration kicked off at 9:45am, with the meeting starting officially at 10:30am.

π During the meeting, follow-up calls were made to key national contacts to ensure Oyo CSACEFA stays actively involved in the two major projects.

Membership registration fee remains β¦10,000; annual dues increased from β¦5,000 to β¦10,000.
Strong call for membership drive & active participation.

Event Recap: Meeting with the National Commission on Almajiris and Out-of-School Children
On the 19th May 2025, CSACEFA Oyo State Chapter met with the National Commission on Almajiris and Out-of-School Children at the Federal Government Secretariat, Quality Assurance Section of the Federal Ministry of Education.
The meeting, which began at 10:24 AM, started with an introduction of CSACEFA at both the State and National levels by Mr. Moshood.
Mr. Usman, the Commission Coordinator, shared that the project would commence with a Mop-Up Exercise targeting Almajiris and Out-of-School Children across Oyo State. While the initiative will eventually cover all 33 Local Government Areas, it will begin in Ibadan as the pilot location.
This marks an important step in addressing educational inclusion and ensuring every child has access to quality learning opportunities.

Event Recap: Progressive Meeting on the 21-Day Mop-Up Exercise
On June 30, 2025, the coalition participated in a Progressive Meeting at the Federal Secretariat, Ikolaba, Ibadan, to review the ongoing 21-Day Mop-Up Exercise.
The session brought together stakeholders to:

Identify and address challenges encountered in the field

Discuss feedback from communities and stakeholders
β
Evaluate volunteer performance and coordination
β
Strategize for improved coverage and impact in the remaining days
This meeting was a crucial step in ensuring the success of the exercise, which aims to improve educational access and inclusion.
