Nothing hits more disruptively at the very epistemological foundations of learning as the emergence of the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technologies. With GenAI, the age-long, philosophical claim to knowledge has necessarily transmuted from "personal ownership of knowledge to KNOWING WHERE to get knowledge". And, perhaps, more confondingly is the reality and risks that comes with "outsourcing of knowledge".
As deployed in other sectors, GenAI tools and technologies are now being used to answer the age-long, importunate questions about education; to answer the critical questions of: Who to teach? What to teach? and, How to teach?, at the start of any education program or reform endeavor.
I therefore map below a few Use Cases of GenAI in education as well as the appropriate AI tools to deliver them in the image below. I hope that teachers find the Use Cases map an easy guide or reference material to AI tools selection and as a pointer to their practical and amazing usefulness.
It goes without saying that the 21st century teacher should gleefully embrace AI technologies to deliver the goods, especially given that today's learners are digital natives, who's life experiences are woven around technology.
