Here is the Top 5 Common Mistakes Young People Make When Choosing Courses!

A few days ago, someone came to my DM and asked a very crucial question, a question that is burning in the hearts of many students today.

She said (and I quote):

"Good Morning Sir!
Please Sir, I'm studying SLT at our State Poly. I accepted it because someone told me about it. But now, I'm not finding joy in doing it.
I don't like the course options under SLT, and I heard most of the job opportunities are just teaching job, & I don't like teaching.
Please sir, what should I do?"

I felt the weight of that question!
And guess what? She is not alone.

Many students are silently battling the same regret, stuck in a course they never truly understood before signing up.

Listen,
Most students never take the time to research the course they are choosing. All they want is to enter school by any means, even if it means entering with their eyes closed.

But here is the reality:
You will not understand the gravity of "just entering school' until you start the course
and feel stuck.

Let me briefly talk about some of the top common mistakes many young people make when choosing a course, and how to avoid them:

1. Not Researching What the Course Is About!
Do you really know what the course involves? Have you checked the course outline, job prospects, or what graduates from that course are doing today? Don't pick a course you don not understand.

2. Settling for Anything Just to Get In!
Some will say, As long as I enter school this year, anything goes. But no, anything doesn't go. If you are not careful, you will end up stuck in a course you resent. That is how many lose direction before they even start.

3. Choosing a Course Because It Sounds Big!
Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer. Nice titles. But do you even enjoy what they do? Don not pick a course to impress people, pick a course that gives you peace.

4. Picking What is Trending!
Nursing is trending. Tech is booming. So what? If it is not your passion, don't force it. Your future is not a fashion show. Don't let hype push you into something that drains you.

5. Letting Family or Friends Decide for You!
My dad said I should do Law. My friends are going for Mass Comm, so I joined them.
No! This is your life. They won't attend the lectures for you. Speak up, ask questions, pray, then choose wisely.

Send us a DM to guide you through this journey, and I hope to see billions of young people who will learn to avoid regretting their actions in choosing courses.

You don't have to repeat the mistakes of others, you can choose better, if you choose with intention.
Because years from now, you won't regret choosing late, you will only regret choosing wrong.

I have much to say, but bye for Now!

Yours truly,
Goldtech Edu Consult, I help young people discover their purpose & realign with destiny!
