Oyo college bans dreadlocks, indecent dressing, sets up task force to sanction erring students

The Management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora has set up A Task Force Committee Against Students Immoral Behaviour.

Speaking on the development, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Wasiu Raheem explained that the Committee was borne out of the need to ensure students compliance with the dress code and other rules and regulations guiding students on campus.

The Dean of Students, therefore, appealed to Students to ensure strict compliance to rules and regulations.
The Committee is expected to monitor Students in the College as regards to rules and regulations, guide against students’ immoral behavior, arrest and recommend appropriate sanctions for students who err.

The Task Force
Committee set up by the Management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora on Students Immoral Behaviour has commenced work.

According to the Task Force Chairman, Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun, the Committee kick started its operations by moving round the lecture halls of the institution on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in order to identify Students who did not comply with the dress code of the institution.

“The ten-man Committee which was inaugurated in July 13, 2021 had earlier held stakeholders meeting at the Boardroom of the College where what constitute immoral behaviour were extensively discussed, she said.”

The Committee Chairman explained that the Committee had met severally on its mode of operation and how to monitor students’ compliance to rules and regulations as well as the dress code.

Dr. Adeosun who spoke on behalf of other committee members maintained that erring students would be sanctioned while calling on students to check students’ handbook and online copies of list of immoral behaviour.

Effort of the Management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora at providing conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning received a boost as the official foundation laying of Departmental office for Agricultural Technology Department initiated by Dr. Oluwaseun Oladoyinbo, the Head of Department was performed on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

The acting rector for Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, Mr. Olaniyi Adekunle who carried out the official foundation laying commended the Head of Department for Agricultural Technology, Dr. Oluwaseun Oladoyinbo for initiating the donation in collaboration with other stakeholders for the progress of the institution.

" I am extremely Happy about this project because it would ease part of the congestion being experienced at the Agricultural Technology Department in particular and institution in general."

The acting rector while calling on others to emulate the Kind gesture donated 200 concrete blocks towards the speedy completion of the job.

The initiator of the project and Head of Agricultural Technology Department, Dr. Oladoyinbo said the initiative was borne out of the quest to support the advancement of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora and the effort of management.

Dr. Oladoyinbo thanked the people who believe and support the project.

During his remarks, the Dean Faculty of Plant Science, Dr. Wasiu Bello expressed joy that the laudable project was taking place in his time as the Dean of faculty.

Dr. Bello thanked the attendees for being part epoch making event.

The building upon completion is expected to accomodate HOD and secretary's office, departmental library and three toilets.

The foundation laying programme was well attended by the Acting Rector of the institution, Mr Olaniyi Adekunle, Deputy Rector, Dr. Taiwo Akinyemi, Ag. Registrar, Mr. Oyediran.
