Abuja, Nigeria – La Plage Meta Verse (LPMV) recently hosted the national leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) at its headquarters, reinforcing its commitment to bridging Nigeria’s digital divide through the Free National Digital Skill Upgrade Program.

The high-powered NULGE delegation was led by Comrade Aliyu Haruna Kankara, FCPA (President General, NULGE), accompanied by Comrade Isah Gambo, FIICA, FCPA (General Secretary) and Comrade Ayodele Ajewole, FCPA (Deputy General Secretary). The visit served as a strategic dialogue on how to scale up digital literacy among local government employees across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

The meeting focused on the implementation of LPMV’s Free National Digital Skill Upgrade Program, an initiative designed to equip local government workers with practical, everyday digital competencies — from computer literacy and data management to online collaboration tools, cybersecurity awareness, and basic AI applications. This program aligns with Nigeria’s national digital economy policy and its drive toward e-governance and smarter public service delivery.

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting skill acquisition, self-employment, and economic empowerment across Africa, La Plage Meta Verse, Africa’s first, largest, and most affordable synchronous learning platform, recently conducted a Perfume-Making Training Workshop for members of the public in Abuja.

The interactive session brought together participants from diverse backgrounds who were eager to acquire practical entrepreneurial skills in fragrance formulation, branding, and small-scale production. The training aligns with La Plage Meta Verse’s mission to bridge the global skills gap through accessible, locally relevant, and internationally recognized learning experiences.

Speaking at the event, representatives of La Plage Meta Verse emphasized that the initiative forms part of the organization’s broader effort to support youth and women in developing creative enterprises that promote self-reliance and financial stability. Participants were guided through every stage of perfume production — from scent selection and mixing techniques to packaging and marketing strategies.

According to the President of La Plage Meta Verse, Dr. Osaze Joshua Obaseki-Osemwegie, “Our goal is to empower individuals with practical skills that can be immediately translated into sustainable income. Perfume-making is one of many vocational programs through which we’re helping Africans transform creativity into business opportunities.”

The training concluded with participants receiving digital certificates of participation issued by La Plage Meta Verse, a globally recognized institution accredited by international professional bodies. Many attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity, describing the experience as both inspiring and life-changing.

La Plage Meta Verse continues to expand its skill acquisition initiatives across major cities in Nigeria and beyond, reinforcing its vision of empowering one million Africans with future-ready skills for global relevance.
