*WHY PARENTS AND GUARDIANS NEED TO PAY FIRST TERM SCHOOL FEES DURING LONG HOLIDAY*

📝 Preparation for first term resumption of every academic session has always been challenging, demanding and hectic for school owners as they need huge amount of money to put things in right order. This has always compelled them to go for loan almost every academic session as there is no payment of school fees throughout the long vacation.

📝 The holiday coaching peanuts cannot even cater for staff let alone putting anything meaningful in place for resumption. The stress of getting reasonable loan without interest (as interest is unlawful in Islam) for majority of school owners in this economic hardship is frustrating and demeaning. At this juncture, I fervently pray Allah to continue elevating the status of those who give us non-interest loans.

📝 It should be noted that the school owners need to spend on the following items during holiday which usually consume huge amount of money:
1️⃣ Printing of customised notebooks;
2️⃣ Purchase of textbooks, literature texts and stationeries;
3️⃣ Upgrade of facilities and procurement of new items into the school library, science laboratory, ICT room, Home Economics laboratory, Basic Technology laboratory etc.;
4️⃣ Purchase of school uniform;
5️⃣ Procurement of new chairs and desks;
6️⃣ School renovation;
7️⃣ School expansion;
8️⃣ School Fumigation;
9️⃣ Servicing the school bus for those who have one;
1️⃣0️⃣ Staff training in preparation for new academic session to mention but few.

📝 Apart from looking at the issue from school angle, another convincing angle is that of the parents. Parents and guardians spend hugely during first term for education of their children. They pay for school fees, purchase of new school uniform, new sport wear, new Friday wear for Muslim schools, purchase of notebooks and stationeries, purchase of new school bags, purchase of new school sandals, payment for external examinations among others.

📝 In order to make things work out for both parents and the school proprietors upon resumption in first term of every academic session, *parents should endeavour to pay full school fees or half of it during third term long vacation* when there is no payment of school fees. This helps our children to resume to a conducive learning environment where necessary things have been put in place by the school owners. It eases affairs of parents upon resumption and facilitate learning.

📝 I hope I have poured out my mind. It is now for parents and guardians to do the needful by paying first term school fees of their children in their various schools.

🤲 May ALLAH enrich us all and give us soft hearts to do the right thing at the appropriate time. May we reap the fruits of our labour on our children. Aamiin🤲
