Oyo Police Dismiss 7pm Curfew Rumour, Say No Movement Restriction in the State. The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed rumors of an alleged 7pm curfew and movement restrictions within and outside Ibadan, assuring residents that there is no security threat warranting panic. In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, described the reports as false and misleading. The police assured residents that adequate security measures have been put in place across the state, with officers and operatives strategically deployed to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of lives and properties. The command warned individuals and groups against spreading false information or unverified reports capable of causing panic and fear among the public, stressing that anyone found culpable would be investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law. Residents were advised to disregard the rumors and continue with their lawful activities without fear, while the command reiterated that any official security directive or emergency measure would only be communicated through verified official channels. The police urged members of the public to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies in the collective effort to sustain peace and public order across Oyo State.
