The society of Exploration Geophysicists invites you to the End of year party tagged Geophysicist Hangout. This events promises to be fun and exciting with a short certified course on field safety. (Exxon/Chevron approved)
Ever wondered were to get funding for your research works and project, look no further, a short course on Winning grants (Winning grants 101) by previous awardees and scholars will be presented. You wouldn’t want to miss this session I promise you.
With the recent buzz about climate change and the need to switch to renewable clean energy, we are going to have a debate on the relevance of geophysics in the energy transition from petroleum to renewable energy and look at the sustainability of the petroleum industry. Do you think Africa/Nigeria is ready for a transition, is renewable energy a far reach ??? All this and many more we get to discuss and debate it out.
(P**s: There’s a little prize for debaters😉)
Can you deliver mate in three 😎,Chess is available.!! ♟♟♟

The SOCIETY OF EXPLORATION GEOPHYSICISTS UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN CHAPTER invites you to a webinar titled:
MACHINE LEARNING IN GEOPHYSICS: CURRENT AND FUTURE TRENDS.
Machine Learning is a sub field of Artificial intelligence that has experienced a rapid growth in the last 10 years across diverse industries, including communications, financial services, security, transportation and not limited to the field of geosciences too. Applications of machine learning have produced results enabling new opportunities and business models. Applied to geosciences, these data driven approach is a complementary tool for physical-based modeling, simulation and inversion, machine learning facilitates an understanding of complex relationships among a large and diverse set of variables, valuable for generating, validating models and answering scientific questions. Geophysics datasets are among the largest volumes of data, possessing a wide range of properties with scales varying over many orders of magnitude. This webinar will discuss the challenges, opportunities and trends related to the adoption of MACHINE LEARNING in geophysical research and industrial workflows.
An opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss. 😉
Our facilitator, Tola Abiodun is a Data Scientist, Geoscientist and Software Developer. He has an unwavering penchant for computers and its application to solving real life problems. He is currently the Technical Lead/Co-Founder of Fluxgate Technologies, Nigeria.
