THE HISTORIC SOD-TURNING CEREMONY

History was made on Monday 1 August 2022 at the sod-turning ceremony for the new student hostel project being championed by the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI) in partnership with the Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association Worldwide (ICOMAA WW).

The ceremony witnessed an inspiring keynote speech by the Fundraiser-in-Chief, Prof. Philip Ozuah (a 1985 alumnus) before he went ahead to make a hefty donation of $1,000,00 (One Million US Dollars) towards the project.

We are highly indebted to our College and the Alumni Association for this laudable project. Grateful thanks to Prof. Ozuah and other generous donors for contributing towards making the project a reality.

We believe, when completed, it will greatly benefit the students.

The Representatives of the Oyo State Medical Students' Association (OYMSA) were warmly received by our Patron, Prof. Adesola Ogunniyi (Consultant Neurologist and Professor of Medicine).

We discussed about the activities of the Association so far and also talked about our upcoming programmes.

Grateful thanks to our Patron for the warm reception and constant support.

MEETING WITH HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH IN OYO STATE

Today, Thursday 21 July 2022, we visited the Commissioner for Health in Oyo State, Dr. Taiwo Olabode Ladipo, who happens to be an alumnus of our College and Association. This is in quest of bringing into fruition our plans which started in the last tenure but unfortunately aborted by prevailing circumstances like COVID-19. It was such a great time having brilliant submissions and discussions with him.

We are very indebted to the Honourable Commissioner for the warm reception and anticipated intervention. We are much obliged to our Staff Adviser and Deputy Provost, Prof. Fatai Adeniyi, for always readily responding to our incessant call for help.

We are committed to seeing to the welfare of our members and responding to the health need of our communities.
