HIS EXCELLENCY THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT APPROVES STRATEGIC APPOINTMENTS TO STRENGTHEN ADMINISTRATION AND ENHANCE DIVISION OF LABOUR

The National President of the Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMSS), incorporated as the National Union of Zamfara State Students (NUZAMSS), His Excellency Comrade Ahmad Halliru Yahaya GCZSS, has approved the appointment of new officials into various strategic positions within the National Administration.

The appointments form part of the administration’s continued commitment to strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing effective division of labour, improving coordination, and ensuring efficient delivery of its programmes and responsibilities.

The decision is also informed by the expanding workload of the administration, arising from its growing programmes, institutional engagements, student-focused initiatives and increasing responsibilities, particularly during the present political season. The administration considers it necessary to broaden its working structure and deploy competent individuals to specific areas of responsibility for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

The National President has therefore charged all appointees to work collectively, responsibly and in accordance with the principles of service, accountability, discipline and institutional loyalty.

The administration remains committed to building a stronger, more coordinated and responsive leadership capable of effectively representing and advancing the interests of Zamfara State students.

The complete list of the newly appointed officials and their respective portfolios is attached in the above PDF document, all concerned are hereby directed to assume their respective duties with immediate effect upon the recieval of their appointment letters.

FAZAMSS ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES FOR SAHEL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

The Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMSS), incorporated as NUZAMSS, is pleased to announce the release of the shortlisted candidates who successfully passed the screening process for the FAZAMSS Scholarship Scheme in partnership with Sahel College of Health Sciences and Advanced Studies, Gusau.

The successful candidates were selected following a screening exercise conducted by the duly constituted 7-member Screening Committee, with due consideration given to applicants’ eligibility, academic credentials, submitted documentation, and other approved criteria.

FAZAMSS warmly congratulates all 20 successful candidates on this important achievement. Your success reflects your commitment to pursuing education and building a career in the health sciences.

We equally commend all applicants who participated in the screening exercise and appreciate their patience, cooperation, and confidence in the process.

FAZAMSS Constitutes National Steering Committee for 2002–2026 National Confluence

As the Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMSS), incorporated as the National Union of Zamfara State Students (NUZAMSS), approaches its 24th anniversary, the leadership is pleased to announce the official constitution of the National Steering Committee for the upcoming National Confluence.

The National Confluence, proposed for Sunday, 6th October 2026, will serve as an institutional platform for critical reflection, advocacy, and strategic planning. Under the central theme, “Reflecting on the Past, Strengthening Scholarship, Assessing Our Association & Charting the Way Forward,” the Confluence aims to address core issues such as the revival of the long-discontinued local scholarship scheme, internal cohesion, and institutional autonomy.

To ensure a thorough, inclusive, and seamless organization, the following experienced past and present leaders have been appointed to steer the affairs of the National Confluence:

The Association calls on all past leaders, current executives, chapter presidents, alumni, students, government officials, educational stakeholders, and friends of Zamfara students to fully support the National Steering Committee and the Confluence.

Twenty-four years of existence presents a critical opportunity for FAZAMSS (Incorporated as NUZAMSS) to reflect honestly on its journey, restore unity, revive local scholarship advocacy, protect institutional autonomy, and reposition itself as a true development partner for Zamfara State.

FAZAMSS PARTNERS WITH iDICE DIGITAL AND CREATIVE SKILLS TO JOBS PROGRAMME TO EXPAND OPPORTUNITIES FOR ZAMFARA STUDENTS

The Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMSS) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with the iDICE Digital and Creative Skills to Jobs Programme, implemented by Conclase Consulting Limited, the North-West Implementing Partner.

The initiative, supported through the Federal Government of Nigeria in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), is designed to equip young people with practical digital and creative skills while creating pathways to employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.

Under this partnership, FAZAMSS will mobilise and sensitise Zamfara State students across campuses within and outside the State to take advantage of the programme and its opportunities in areas including software development, UI/UX design, data analytics, digital marketing, product design, fashion design, culinary arts and other technology-enabled skills.

Following the confirmation of the partnership, His Excellency, Comrade Ahmad Halliru Yahaya, National President of FAZAMSS, has directed The National Assistant Secretary General Comrade Mahi Hamisu, and The **Special Adviser to the National President on Communications **and strategic media Comrade Umar Sanusi, to take charge of the mobilisation and coordination process.

They are mandated to identify and coordinate Student Ambassadors across campuses in Zamfara State and other institutions with Zamfara students, after which a broader project committee will be constituted, with Comrade Maihi Hamisu as Chairman and Comrade Umar Sanusi as Secretary, alongside other designated members.

The programme’s coordination will be supported by Comrade Yahaya Suleiman, the Project Coordinator, who previously served as Project Manager of the Undergraduate Digital Incubation Programme initiated by FAZAMSS in partnership with HAMMAD Technologies.

FAZAMSS considers this partnership an important step towards connecting Zamfara students with practical skills, innovation, employment opportunities and the digital economy.

The National Leadership of the Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMSS / NUZAMSS), under the Screening Committee, wishes to officially announce the SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION of the Physical Screening Exercise for the Sahel College of Health Sciences Scholarship Scheme.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all applicants across the 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State for their orderly conduct, patience, and cooperation throughout the verification process at ZACAST, Gusau.

A FRIENDLY FOOTBALL MATCH IN HONOUR OF HON. ANAS HAMISU LAWAL JARUMIN GUSAU, WUDIL LGA, KANO STATE

The Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMSS) dedicated a friendly football match between FAZAMSS and the Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto Students Association (ZAKSOSA), Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil Chapter, in honour of Hon. Anas Hamisu Lawal Jarumin Gusau, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to the welfare and development of Zamfara State students.

This recognition follows his continued dedication to supporting students, including his interventions towards the payment of scholarships and other educational needs of numerous students facing financial difficulties, as well as his consistent support for initiatives aimed at strengthening student organisations and advancing educational development in Zamfara State.

The match, held in Wudil Local Government Area of Kano State, also provided an opportunity to promote unity, friendship, sportsmanship, and stronger bonds among Zamfara State students across different institutions.
