In our prestigious institution, Uncle John's Academy, Gboko, it has become an admirable culture and an integral tradition to engage students in entrepreneurship practicals, thereby equipping them with indispensable vocational and entrepreneurial competencies necessary for future success and self reliance.
Today’s practical session on popcorn production was exceptionally enlightening, innovative, and intellectually rewarding.
The exercise was not merely about producing popcorn, but about cultivating creativity, productivity, teamwork, managerial efficiency, and strategic business orientation. From the preliminary preparation to the final production stage, every aspect of the practical was profoundly educative and inspiring. It was indeed fascinating to observe how entrepreneurial ideas can be transformed into tangible and profitable ventures through dedication, collaboration, and proper coordination.
This remarkable initiative continuously demonstrates our school’s unwavering commitment to qualitative education and practical empowerment. In an era where entrepreneurship has become a vital instrument for economic sustainability and personal development, such practical experiences serve as invaluable opportunities for students to acquire real life business exposure beyond the four walls of the classroom.
I would also like to express profound gratitude and sincere appreciation to our highly esteemed and benevolent proprietor, Sir Makir Terzungwe John (MNCS), whose magnanimity and relentless support have made these practical sessions consistently successful. His willingness to shoulder the financial responsibilities of these entrepreneurship practicals is truly commendable and deeply appreciated. Such generosity and visionary leadership undoubtedly reflect his genuine passion for educational advancement and student empowerment.
Without mincing words, today’s entrepreneurship practical was impactful, productive, and unforgettable. It further strengthened our understanding that entrepreneurship transcends theoretical learning and thrives more effectively through practical application, innovation, and experience.
Indeed, UJA learners are being molded not merely as students, but as future entrepreneurs, innovators, and nation builders.
We return all honour and glory back to God.

Entrepreneurship and Craft Practical Session:
Uncle John's Academy, Gboko organized an engaging and highly educational Craft and Entrepreneurship Practical Session for her learners. During this hands-on activity, a professional tailor was invited to the school to introduce the students to the basic skills involved in dressmaking.
The session was practical and interactive. The tailor carefully demonstrated the important steps involved in producing a dress, beginning with taking accurate body measurements, followed by cutting the fabric according to the required pattern, and finally sewing the pieces together to form a complete dress. The learners had the opportunity to observe each stage closely and also participate under guidance, which made the learning experience more meaningful and memorable.
This activity was designed to expose students to practical vocational skills that can be valuable in everyday life. Beyond learning how clothes are made, the session also strengthened them about the concept of entrepreneurship, showing how tailoring can serve as a profitable skill and a potential source of income.
By participating in this exercise, the learners developed a deeper appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, patience, and attention to detailed qualities that are essential in both vocational and professional fields.
The practical session was an enriching experience for the students, as it helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real world application. It also encouraged them to continue thinking about skill acquisition, self-reliance, and entrepreneurship, which are important tools for future success.
We remain committed to providing our learners with opportunities that promote practical knowledge, creativity, and life skills, preparing them to become confident and resourceful individuals in the society.

OPEN DAY @ UJA SCHOOLS.
A SUCCESSFUL AND IMPACTFUL EVENT
We give all glory and gratitude to God Almighty for the success of our Open Day for the Nursery, Primary, and Secondary sections of Uncle John's Academy, Gboko, today 5th March, 2026. It was truly a rewarding and memorable experience as we welcomed parents and guardians into the school environment for meaningful engagement with our teachers.
The Open Day provided a valuable opportunity for one on one discussions between parents and teachers, where the academic progress, strengths, and areas for improvement of each learner were carefully discussed. This interaction allowed parents to gain deeper insight into their children's development while also enabling teachers and parents to work together in shaping better learning outcomes.
Open Day is an important part of the educational process because it strengthens the partnership between home and school. When parents and teachers collaborate, learners benefit greatly. Such discussions help identify each child's unique abilities, address challenges early, and create practical strategies to support their growth academically, socially, and morally.
We sincerely appreciate all the parents and guardians who took time out of their busy schedules to attend and actively participate, your presence, encouragement, and commitment to your children’s education mean so much to us.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated teachers and staff whose hard work, preparation, and professionalism made the event successful. Your passion for nurturing young minds continues to make a difference in the lives of our learners.
As a school community, we remain committed to raising confident, disciplined, and academically sound learners. Together, with God as our foundation and with the continued cooperation of parents, we will keep guiding our children towards excellence... Hence the motto of the school "AN EXPRESSWAY TO EXCELLENCE".
Thank you all for being part of this wonderful and impactful Open Day.

Today Thursday ,26th February,2026 was truly a wonderful and energetic day at Uncle John's Academy, Gboko as our Nursery, Primary, and secondary learners came together with their teachers to participate in a variety of exciting sports activities including badminton, basketball, swings, balloon games, and other fun team challenges.
As the Director of Sports, I am proud to highlight the importance of such activities in the holistic development of our learners.
Sports and play are not just recreational, they are powerful tools for growth and learning. Through games like badminton and basketball, learners develop physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and discipline. Activities such as swings and balloon games, especially for our younger learners, help improve balance, motor skills, and concentration in a fun and engaging way.
Beyond physical development, these activities promote social interaction, cooperation, and mutual respect among learners across different age groups. It was inspiring to see Nursery, Primary, and Secondary learners sharing the same space, encouraging one another, and learning valuable life skills such as leadership, resilience, and fair play.
Equally important was the involvement of our teachers, whose participation strengthened the bond between staff and learners. When teachers engage alongside students, it fosters a supportive and inclusive school environment where learning extends beyond the classroom.
At Uncle John's Academy, Gboko, we believe that sports play a vital role in nurturing confident, healthy, and well-rounded individuals. Today’s activities were a true reflection of our commitment to developing not only academic excellence but also strong character and teamwork.
We look forward to many more moments of growth, joy, and unity through sports.
