GSS GBOKO ATTENDS CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION UNDER MR. SASE ANDREW TERFA AS PRINCIPAL
Staff and students of Government Secondary School (GSS) Gboko today, 27th May 2026, joined other schools across the state to commemorate this year’s Children’s Day celebration held at the JS Tarka Stadium, Gboko. The school, under the leadership of the Principal, Mr. Sase Andrew Terfa, participated actively in the colourful event.
The occasion brought together pupils and students from different schools within Gboko and beyond in a grand celebration aimed at promoting the welfare, unity and development of children in society. The students of GSS Gboko displayed high level of discipline, coordination and enthusiasm throughout the activities at the stadium.
Speaking during the event, members of staff expressed satisfaction with the conduct and impressive participation of the students, describing the outing as both educational and inspiring. The presence of the school at the event once again reflected the commitment of the management of GSS Gboko towards encouraging extracurricular activities and social development among students.
The Children’s Day celebration featured march past, cultural displays, entertainment and other activities designed to celebrate children as future leaders of the nation. Children’s Day is celebrated annually in Nigeria every 27th May to honour and appreciate children across the country.
GSS Gboko remains one of the leading Government Secondary Schools in Benue State, continuing to distinguish itself in academics, discipline and participation in social activities.

GSS GBOKO CHOIR WINS SINGING COMPETITION
Earlier today, Government secondary school Gboko choir attended 10th anniversary of voice, participated in the singing competition and emerged as the champion of the year. With the following positions;
1. Best in compulsory (set) piece.
2. Best in traditional piece
3. Most improved choir
4. Best Male conductor (Orduen Emmanuel)
5. First position (overall best) in singing.
Amongst 9 schools across Benue state, God has yet crowned the effort of GSS Gboko with joy.
A heartfelt appreciation to the principal, Mr SASE Andrew and the management for giving the students the platform and the opportunity to showcase their talent.
