As some states in Nigeria are experiencing Cholera outbreaks with death toll hitting 40, and the Director General of Nigeria Disease Control and Prevention is complaining of inadequate vaccine to fight it. The need to protect ourselves and others is now. Cholera, if not treated quickly, can kill. Let us watch what we eat, drink and maintain the culture of hand washing.

June 5th, a day set aside by United Nations to celebrate the Environment is here . WED is celebrated across the world every year and serves as a platform for raising awareness about the environment. This year, the theme focuses on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience practises.
The FCT Branch of the National Library of Nigeria, in collaboration with Austin Ekwujuru of Basic Right Watch, joined the rest of the world to observe this day by planting trees in 6 selected secondary schools across Abuja. Over 400 students were engaged on Climate Education issues with the planting of over 100 economic trees across the 6 locations.
A book titled: "A Monster with a Name and Other Stories" which highlighted the consequences of climate change on the environment, authored by Mrs Folasade Adepoju was distributed to further explain how to preserve and conserve the ecology/Biodiversity. 🌳 🌳 In the course of the event, over 50 Climate Resilient Chsmpions were also raised...

The F.C.T branch of the National Library joined the Socio-Cultural group, Yoruba Community in The Federal Capital Territory to celebrate the year festival in grand style. The NLN exhibition was a side attraction due to her rich collection of Yoruba books and other traditional artefacts. The exhibition stand was visited by the Cuban Ambassador, The Director of Arts and Culture, Africa Union, a former commissioner of Arts and Culture, Oyo State and other sons and daughter of yorubaland.
