The English Dictionary Project

The EDP is a project under Inspiring the Future Initiative [ITFI].

The aim of this project is to help students in public secondary schools have access to personal dictionaries and help improve their proficiency in English Language.

EDP @ 12 🎉🎉🎉A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Twelve years ago, a single step was taken to help young Nigerians in public secondary schools have access to personal dictionaries.

Twelve years and several steps later, this initiative has reached out to over twenty schools and over one thousand beneficiaries.

Wooow! Twelve years? Just like that?We look back at how the journey has been, and we are grateful to those who have walked the path with us.

Through the highs and lows, your unwavering support has kept us going.
We couldn’t have done this without you all.

Today, we say thank you. We remain grateful. Our beneficiaries are grateful.We are inspiring the future.

Throwback to our June outreach in Amuwo Odofin Community Grammar School.

We're thrilled to be empowering the next generation of readers! 📚 Our visit was an incredible experience as we worked alongside our amazing beneficiary who benefited from the English Dictionary Project eight years ago when we visited Festac Grammar School.

Together, we're building a foundation for a lifetime of learning.

We had a wonderful time at Amuwo Odofin Community
Senior Secondary School, giving out dictionaries to amazing students. This is sure to boost their vocabulary, reading skills and their communication skills in general!

We are thrilled to donate dictionaries to these students, thereby empowering young minds! These dictionaries will be a valuable resource for their academic journey.

A huge thank you to the Amuwo Odofin Community Senior Secondary School for welcoming us and for the representative of the Tutor General, from Education District V.

To our Board members, Support Group members, partners and volunteers, we are grateful for your consistent support.

“Words can make us laugh or cry, heal or wound, they can change the way you think and feel” (Billy Cox), and as such, with the EDP (The English Dictionary Project), our goal is to give underprivileged children access to dictionaries as a means to chart their own course in life.

In a world where English language is universal, we believe that the first step towards securing a future for these children is their ability to give expression to the world around them.

So, in the spirit of the day, we say Happy Children’s Day. You are seen and loved for the confident, worthy, and awesome children that you are!
