RENAMING OF 4 MODEL PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN FASKARI LGEA:

Attention To The General Public.

We hereby announce that significant changes have been made to the names and designations of certain primary schools in our community. It is imperative for all stakeholders to take note of these modifications for future reference and communication.

Effective immediately, the renowned Faskari Model Primary School will now be officially referred to as the "Ahmed Moh'd Bawa Model Primary School Faskari (AMB)." This renaming honors Ahmed Moh'd Bawa's legacy and contributions to education in our locality.

Furthermore, the Yankara Model Primary School has undergone a name change and shall be known and addressed as the "Adamu Zagami Model Primary School Yankara (AZM)." This alteration reflects a tribute to Adamu Zagami's esteemed role in the development of education in our region.

Similarly, the Mairua Model Primary School has been rebranded as the "Madawaki Abdullahi Model Primary School Mairua (MAM)." This adjustment pays homage to Madawaki Abdullahi's remarkable dedication to the advancement of primary education in our community.

Lastly, the Daudawa Model Primary School has been formally renamed to the "Garba Primary School." This alteration aims to recognize the significance of the school within our community under the new name "Garba Primary School."

We urge all residents, parents, students, and authorities to update their records and communications accordingly. These changes are essential to ensure clarity and consistency in all dealings involving these educational institutions.

Your cooperation in adopting and adhering to these revised school names is greatly appreciated as we strive to enhance educational standards and recognition within our community.

GENERAL SUPERVISION EXERCISE AND FORMAL INTRODUCTION OF NEWLY APPOINTED TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PERSONNEL UNDER FASKARI LGEA.

Today being Monday 21st October 2024, the Teachers Professional Development Department of Faskari Local Government Area conducted a supervision exercise and formal introduction of newly appointed personnel at various primary schools in the area. As directed by the Education Secretary, the visit aimed to ensure the quality of education and professional development of teachers in the region. The schools visited includes Bariki Primary School, Model Primary School Faskari, Girls Day Primary School, Shehu Inuwa Imam Pilot Primary School and Alhaji Yahaya Model Qur'an Primary School Faskari respectively.

Supervision Exercise:

During the supervision exercise, the team from the Teachers Professional Development Department was headed by the Director quality assurance Hajiya Rakiya Muhammed, Desk officer TESS Malam Tijjani Mansir and 5 other staff from the TPD department which includes Malama Hassana Yusuf as the Director of the department, Malam Adamu Yahaya Desk officer TPD, Malam Nuhu Sabiu Assist. Director, Ibrahim Isah Effective School/ICT, Malam Mu'azu Ahmed DO SMASE, Malam Rabe Amadu Yantuwaru D.O RANA and Malama Indo Usman who was appointed as Desk Officer JOLLY PHONICS/ EGREA. The Inspectors observed various aspects of teaching and learning in the schools. They evaluated the classroom environment, teaching methodologies, student engagement, and overall teacher performance. The team also interacted with teachers to provide feedback, guidance, and support for areas of improvement.

Formal Introduction of Newly Appointed Personnel:

In addition to the supervision exercise, the Teachers Professional Development Department introduced newly appointed personnel to the school communities. The new staff members were formally introduced to the school staff, students, and parents to foster a sense of community and collaboration. The Department ensured that the new personnel understood the school's values, objectives, and expectations, and provided them with the necessary resources and support to succeed in their roles.

Outcomes:

The supervision exercise and formal introduction of newly appointed personnel yielded positive outcomes for the schools visited. The Department identified areas of strength and areas for improvement in the teaching and learning processes, and provided targeted support and training to help teachers enhance their professional development. The formal introduction of new staff members helped integrate them into the school community and ensured they were well-equipped to contribute effectively to the educational goals of the schools.

Recommendations:

Based on the findings from the supervision exercise and formal introduction activities, the Teachers Professional Development Department recommends the following:

1. Continued support and training for teachers to improve teaching methodologies and student engagement.
2. Regular supervision and monitoring of teaching practices to maintain high standards of education.
3. Ongoing collaboration and communication between school staff, students, parents, and the Department to ensure a conducive learning environment.
4. Further professional development opportunities for both new and existing staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Conclusion:

The supervision exercise and formal introduction of newly appointed personnel conducted by the Teachers Professional Development Department in Faskari Local Government Area under the leadership of Malam Sani Mudassiru Faskari have contributed to the improvement of teaching and learning practices in the schools visited. The Department remains committed to supporting the professional development of teachers and ensuring the quality of education for all students in the region.

The Teacher Professional Development (TPD) department, in collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Faskari Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), recently organized a refresher training for Primary School Headteachers on the Mandatory Professional Development Meeting. The training took place on 25 September at Model Primary School Faskari and 26 September 2024 at Modal Primary School Mairua and was attended by 50 participants.

The training aimed to update headteachers on the latest guidelines and best practices in the MPDM system, which plays a crucial role in improving the quality of education in primary schools. The topics covered included data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting, as well as strategies for effective implementation of the MPDM system in schools.

Participants actively engaged in group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises to enhance their understanding and skills in monitoring and evaluating school performance. The training also provided a platform for headteachers to share experiences, challenges, and best practices in implementing the MPDM system in their respective schools.

Overall, the refresher training was well-received by participants, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in monitoring and evaluating school management. It is hoped that the knowledge acquired during the training will benefit participating headteachers and their schools, leading to improved educational outcomes for students in Faskari Local Government Area.
