Our new article detailing the isolation of human-infective trypanosomes from a pregnant woman in Enugu has been published. This provides direct Parasitology call evidence of ongoing transmission of Human African Trypanosomiasis in Enugu State and Nigeria!

The meeting brought together our Director, Deputy Director, and postgraduate students with the visiting team for strategic discussions on advancing research, capacity building, and improving public health outcomes in Nigeria and beyond.

Our Deputy Director, Dr. Chinwe Chukwudi, represented the Vaccine Research Centre at the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (ASTMH) annual conference 2026 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada! The conference, themed "United For Science in Global Health", brought together leading experts in tropical medicine and global health to share knowledge and advance research.

Dr. Chinwe's participation at the conference underscores our centre's commitment to cutting-edge research and collaboration in vaccine development.
