It's Exam season....some schools are even done with it .
How do we as adults , teachers and parents prepare children for exams ?
Children don't know how to do this by themselves ....most don't even give a hoot about it , but they really need to prepare for it. π₯°
Here are some tips to help us , especially intentional parents to prepare the learners.
1. Create a Study Schedule:
π¦ Plan out study times and breaks, don't leave everything for the school to do.
π¦Set realistic goals and deadlines. For example learning of the multiplication table from 1-8 ..."I will ask you on Saturday ."
Learning of spellings from their notes , etc...." I will ask you to spell these words when I come back from work. " ,etc
2. Practice Past Papers:
π¦Use previous exams or practice questions, you can set review questions to guide them.
π¦ Identify areas for improvement. Every child is different, one may have problems with spellings, another with memorising, etc. You can use mnemonics to help as well, you can use acronyms or songs with a certain rhythm....π
3. Make Learning Fun:
π¦ Use flashcards, games, or interactive quizzes. Introduce reward system too.
π¦Make study sessions engaging and interactive, use videos that are age appropriate to further explain the concept.
4. Provide a Conducive Study Environment:
π¦Ensure a quiet, comfortable space.
π¦Minimize distractions (e.g., TV, phones).
5. Encourage Healthy Habits:
π¦Promote balanced meals and snacks.
π¦Ensure adequate sleep and exercise.
6. Offer Support and Guidance:
π¦Be available to answer questions, they're encouraged when they see you have time to answer their questions.
π¦Provide guidance without doing the work for them, some people are guilty of writing the activity for them instead of teaching them how to go about it.
7. Stay Positive and Motivated:
π¦Praise effort, not just results.
π¦Remind them of their strengths and progress.π₯°
Wishing all our children success in all their exams. π

The goal of the learning Process is that the learner should have acquired a new skill, new knowledge and attitude.
You motivate the learners with your own passion and skills, make the learning process to be hands on , activity based.
Don't just stand in front of the class and talk and talk....some of them are actually not listening to you. Their minds are somewhere else. π
Activate the three learning Domains...
Cognitive ( thinking/ mental skills)
Affective ( emotions/ feeling, attitude)
Psychomotor ( Physical/ kinesthetic skills)
When you touch these three domain in your learning process, then you are imparting knowledge....
You feel me ?
Education has evolved.

Hello Monday, π₯°
Believe in yourself, take the leap, and watch the universe conspire to make your dreams a reality.
You got this!
New week, new beginnings, and endless possibilities.
Make it count!
.
20/10/2025
,
Welcome to a brand new week.
Hope you had a restful weekend....and you're reignited, re- fired and ready for the new week.π₯°
Let's talk about "Hands on learning".
Hands on learning is a form of experiential learning where the learners learn through experience or by doing.
In rote learning , the learners play a passive role.
Active learning is concerned with more concrete issues related to the learner and the learning process. Eg : using the sand tray to write letters, tying of shoe lace, pouring, planting bean seeds in nursery beds, using the abacus, using the colourful balls to identify different colours, use of flash cards for sorting, etc.
This is the 21st century , when you teach , let the learners see and touch . Eg : touching different surfaces when explaining rough, smooth, etc .
Your teaching shouldn't be abstract , show them what you mean , let them touch as well where it's possible.
Learning is so much fun when hands on activities are involved.

You see the teaching profession ?
It's one of the most difficult profession in the world....aside Med.Surg.
You can argue with your keyboard ooooo....no problem!
The teaching profession is one profession that requires you to be patient, meticulous, mentally alert, Technologically inclined ( in recent times.)
You must be emotionally intelligent, you must be able to multi task, you must be very agile and energetic, in fact you must be very happy always.....just put aside your own feelings and emotions immediately you walk in through those gates.
You must grammatically sound, you must know a little bit of something about everything.
You must what again.....O my goodness! In this profession, you have no excuse. π
One of the daunting tasks of a teacher is to ensure you check learners notes and you must do it well.
Checking learners' books thoroughly is crucial for their growth, but let's be real, it can be overwhelming.
Even if your eye is paining you oooo...what ! Why will your eye pain you? Read it line by line .
Check for spelling errors, letter formation, don't accept bad Handwriting....the list is endless....don't append your seen/ checked ....when you know you didn't see or check anything.
That seen / checked is like your signature, be careful how you use it.π€£ππ it may land you into serious problems. ( Even if you wear bottle as spectacles ...na you sabi) ππ€£π€£
Take a deep breath, stay organized, and remember: every page turned and every comment written is helping shape young minds!

How was the school week?
Remember the seeds you sow everyday in the lives of these little ones will surely bear fruit. ....I am talking from a place of experience.
Many years down the road , when you start hearing.." She's doing well, she eventually read Law."
"He ended up doing Med .Surg "
"She's graduating next year from the university. "
"Yes , he has finished, he's currently working at Sheffield".
You'll be glad you sowed those seeds.
Keep at it , keep doing the right thing in your school....even when no one is seeing you or they don't appreciate you.
Just, keep at it .... we have a God who sees , He's watching you and He really rewards well.
His name is EL- Roi .π
He's not a taskmaster at all. He gives everyone his / her reward.
Sometimes I say to myself..."Ozioma, I ma di nke debere gi ndu?" .... do you know if it's one of those seeds sown in the lives of all my amazing learners that are now all doing well in their different works of life.
Yes ooo!! Even if nobody appreciates my seeds sown , I appreciate myself and I know I really paid my dues in this profession.
So don't relent in your efforts... you gerrit?
Even if your boss shouted at you today....just suck it in , take your correction and keep moving forward.
Just wanted to encourage someone today.
Keep soaring y'all.
I'm seriously rooting for you.
Yes , it's Ozioma...Teacher of other teachers.

,
How was today?
Help me analyse this....
You are currently teaching in a school, but you want to leave them because according to you, the take home at the end of the month is very low compared to the current economic situation in the country.
I totally agree with the above.
Fine. ... according to you , you have 20 years of teaching experience , but unfortunately, your years of experience does not show you are a 21st-century teacher.
First of.....you don't have an Android phone.
Secondly, you still write plans on notebooks .
You have no idea of AI tools that can help you and make your work easier.
You have no knowledge of 21st-century pedagogies.
You haven't for once paid for a training to update yourself .....but sister , you want to go to a school that will pay you big money that is as big as the 20 years you have on paper .... brother, how ?
Just like a medical doctor cannot start a new job in a new hospital without the necessary tools ....example, the stethoscope, so also a teacher cannot function properly as a 21st-century teacher in a 21st-century school without 21st-century tools and digital skills required.
It's not me saying it π.....my dear it's the trend we find ourselves in.
Technology is changing everyday, education is dynamic and rapidly evolving too.
When I say don't become a dinosaur....you think it's just to talk. Dinosaurs have gone extinct, you want to join them too?
You cannot give what you don't have.
Trainings will be advertised...you turn a blind eye.
The price will be reduced to accommodate everyone, you still look the other way.
If your school Owner does not pay for your training, you won't sponsor yourself for any .
Then you want a huge take home at the end of the month....how zi ?
What did you bring to the table?
Teachers....let's make a change ooo, some of us are holding ourselves down .
We can do better....
Equip yourself as a 21st-century teacher and see yourself upgrading and climbing to the peak of your career.

To all the dedicated educators out there,
Thank you for shaping minds, inspiring futures, and making a difference in the lives of your learners .
Your hard work, patience, and passion are truly appreciated. Keep nurturing the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and changemakers!
Thank you for always showing up no matter how difficult it may seem.
Thank you for taking care of the young minds handed over to you like they are yours.
You put your energy, focus on ensuring you bring out the best from your learners....even when you're rejected and neglected by those who should take care of your welfare.
They say your reward in heaven.....but we refuse to accept that notion because our reward should start here on earth.
God bless every teacher on this wall , may God open doors of favour for you , may you all live to reap the reward of your seeds sown in the lives of your learners in Jesus name.

Here are some tips to help our learners settle in to the new term, especially a long one like the long vacation/ summer break.
π³π¬Establish a routine: Encourage learners to get back into a regular routine, including homework, study time, and extracurricular activities. ....returning back from a holiday is like a jet lag for most learners. π
π³π¬Review and set goals : Help learners review their progress from the previous term and set achievable goals for the new term...teach them to set goals and let them how important goal setting is.
π³π¬Foster a positive environment: Create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment that promotes socialization, creativity, and learning. ....let there be room for laughter, they're not in the Barack.π€£
π³π¬Communicate with parents : Keep parents informed about their child's progress, goals, and any challenges they may be facing, no need allowing the problem to pile up before reporting it. Also remember to report it to your supervisor first....who will then inform the parents of the learner .
π³π¬Provide clear expectations : Clearly communicate classroom rules, expectations, and academic goals to students.
π³π¬Encourage socialization: Provide opportunities for learners to get to know each other and build relationships with teachers and peers.
π³π¬Be approachable and supportive : Be available to answer questions, provide guidance, and offer support to your learners as they settle into the new term.
As you follow these tips, you help create a smooth transition for learners and set them up for success in the new term!
Keep soaring !π
Remember, I'm rooting for you.

Steps to helping your child boost their vocabulary.
β
οΈRead together : Read a variety of books, articles, and stories to expose them to new words, that's the only way they'll cultivate a rich vocabulary.
β
οΈTalk and discuss: Engage in conversations, ask open-ended questions, and encourage them to express their thoughts....you'll be shocked at what they know. π
β
οΈPlay word games: Play games like Scrabble, Boggle, or Word Chain to make learning fun.
β
οΈUse flashcards: Create flashcards with new words and their meanings to help them learn and review.
β
οΈMake it interactive: Use songs, rhymes, and poems to teach new vocabulary in a fun and engaging way.
Try this and see if it works. πͺπ
