Dear Mr. President:

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. My name is [Joseph Uchechukwu Donatus], and I represent Divinity Television Station, a Christian broadcasting ministry based in Enugu, Nigeria. I humbly write to you in the hope that you will lend your voice and influence to a grave humanitarian crisis facing our Christian communities here in Nigeria.

For many months and now years, Christians in Nigeria — especially in the northern and central regions — have been under relentless attack by armed bandits, militant groups and gunmen. These attacks occur not only in villages, homes and farms, but tragically even within churches and worship gatherings. Many women have been r***d, men killed, children orphaned and entire congregations terrorised. What was once safe ground in the house of God is increasingly becoming a site of fear.

As a global leader and a man of faith, your public concern for religious freedom and humanitarian protection could provide a powerful beacon of hope. We appeal to you to:

1. Use your position and influence to raise awareness of the plight of Nigerian Christians who face daily violence, abduction, r**e and murder simply because of their faith.

2. Encourage the United States Government and its diplomatic networks to engage with the Nigerian government and international human-rights organisations to support protection, justice and rehabilitation for victims.

3. Promote and support initiatives — both public and private — that deliver humanitarian assistance, trauma care, safe resettlement and legal redress to the survivors of these attacks.

4. Speak out morally and publicly, affirming that attacks on worshippers, churches and innocent civilians on the basis of faith are unacceptable and demand international attention.

We believe that your advocacy could help galvanise the global Christian community and the free world to act, to protect those who currently are suffering in silence. Your words and actions would send a strong message of solidarity: that the persecuted in Nigeria are not forgotten, that their lives matter, and that the cause of religious liberty transcends borders.
