We pursue our mission through training, creation of opportunities for exchange of ideas, mounting of exhibitions, and creation of opportunities for individuals, corporate, public and private orgnisations, small businesses, including artisans, to realize their desires and potentials by creating an environment that promotes unhindered access to information, services, funds and other sources. Our Methods and Approaches
The Innovation Academy combines a four-pronged approach of pedagogy, mentorship, financial empowerment and equity participation. A practical hands-on experiential, exploratory and experimental approach ensures that trainees learn fast, master the trade and begin to innovate without prodding. The Innovation Academy approach not only exposes trainees to skill development and leadership and management capabilities, but also teaches them how to identify and solve problems, and provides them with the knowledge and skills needed to create new ventures around novel ideas, which can quickly increase earnings. This is why, in addition to the contents of the usual entrepreneurship development programmes, we introduce introduce modules that try to question the status quo in the learners’ operational context, including Entrepreneurship in innovation, Marketing of innovation, The knowledge economy and innovation, Management of innovation and innovation processes
We believe that entrepreneurship training should be extended to all persons—not just those looking to set up profit-making business ventures—to help them apply entrepreneurial problem-solving skills, innovative thinking and value creation to their particular areas of interest.
