Dear Parents,

So much goes wrong when we neglect one of the most vital responsibilities: raising children the right way.

Imagine a situation where a child is corrected for wrongdoing, but interprets it as being attacked or abused.

Your children wake up in the morning, see you, and don't greet you—and you say nothing. You never correct them or set things in order. Then one day, an outsider witnesses this behavior and tries to correct them, but your children see that person as a monster, because they were never taught at home.

Your children finish eating and go about other things, leaving their plates unwashed. When they visit Mama Odinaka, who insists they wash their plates, they think she’s being mean—just because they weren't taught better.

Your children wake up and grab food without brushing their teeth. You never ask, “Have you brushed?” Then they visit Mama Ebuka’s house, where brushing is a must before eating, and they feel they are being punished.

They wear the same clothes for days without washing them. You never ask why, nor notice the odor. Then at Mama Chika’s house—where cleanliness is a habit—they feel uncomfortable and resentful.

The list goes on.

Let’s bring back informal education—the one that happens at home.

There’s a difference between the training children receive in school and the one they receive at home.

Home training includes moral upbringing, domestic responsibilities, personal hygiene, and proper conduct.

Let’s lay the foundation our children need to stand strong and grow upright.

Let’s build homes where evil is recognized for what it is—and called out as such.

Yes, they are still children, but that is exactly why we must teach them now. What they learn now will go a long way in shaping who they become.

The change begins with us.

God bless you all.

Introducing God to your children remains the greatest gift you can give to them.

While going out, I dropped a written note for my elder son who had gone on a programme with his younger brother. I wanted him to take good care of the house even though I asked his younger brother to sweep the house in the morning before they left which he did. But as I was leaving the house, I discovered it wasn't well swept to my taste, so I dropped a note for them to read just where they would see it immediately they returned.

I wrote that in such a way he would be happy doing the work.

Yes, I am the mummy but I had to tell them welcome. That gladdens children's hearts a lot. It shows I value and respect them a lot.

I equally wrote that to let him know that once he sees something, he should always check whether that demands his attention.

Nothing stopped me from writing just 'Purity' but no, I had to use the 'endearment' to make the relationship between children and parents more stronger.

Do you know what? When I came home, I met everywhere very clean and well-kept. What a good job! When I arrived at the church, PURITY rushed to me to tell me he saw what I had written to him. You needed to see the joy all over his face.
I asked him, 'Did you like it?' He smilingly said yes.

If I had added, ' If I come back and you've not done that work, I will make sure I punish you very well.' Well, he'll do the work for fear of being punished but won't be happy doing it.

Truly, do to others what you think they should do to you. That's a golden rule!

It's not by chance. It's you knowing that GOD IS ABLE to do all things.

Be disciplined enough to keep your mouth shut when hear certain things. That's a Christian way of life.
