After I submitted my Chemistry scoresheet (master's list), the boss said "I am impressed with the result because the students have never passed Chemistry like this for years". I could only say "thank you, prof". He even said he has a gift for us(but that's a story for another day).
To me, it was just a normal thing because by the grace of God who calls me to this vocation, I can boast of my students passing IGSCE WAEC, NECO and JAMB very well as from SS 2(Year 11) if I start teaching them from SS1(Year 10).
All the same, I return all the glory to God the giver of knowledge and wisdom.

Dear Parents,
Kindly stop thwarting the efforts of teachers. If you don't know how to talk to your children in English correctly, just talk to them in your local language.

Every degree programme builds a skill set through diligent learning, module by module, semester after semester. University education is a holistic journey that requires commitment; skipping classes or expecting to be entirely spoon-fed by your course instructors undermines this process. So, debating the supremacy of skills over degrees, or vice versa, is a pointless bid—it diminishes the societal value of a degree certificate. Whether you are a biologist, lawyer, or political scientist, each profession demands specialized skills, particularly critical thinking and that comes with your degree.
You don't need to be, say, a computer scientist to succeed as a lawyer or accountant; what's crucial are the digital skills pertinent to your field as the world evolves, which is acquired through a well-rounded degree programme. It’s another thing if you intend to pivot your career into tech or any fully-computerized venture. The scarcity of jobs isn't a reflection of your degree's worth, unless the curriculum is outdated.
The agenda some people push in their rush to market skills as what complete a degree is rooted in the familiar contempt against ‘Yan Boko—the Western-educated individuals—in our part of the world. But many of the promoters of this skill acquisition drive wouldn’t be where they are today without a degree. If most of the skills we emphasize as requisites are acquired in the journey to becoming a degree holder, then what is the essence of this debate?
Do not let any bottom-tier motivational speaker bamboozle you into doubting that degrees are the ultimate meal tickets for those without famous surnames. There’s no equalizer like formal education, like acquiring a degree. It has transformed billions of families whose ancestors languished at the bottom of the hierarchy of needs. You are already skilled if you took your academic tasks seriously in school. You don’t have to become a plumber, mechanic or whatnot for your degree to be valuable. It’s an entirely a different conversation if you set out to do something outside your academic specialism.

Man was born a free man and was given everything freely, but man himself decided to subject himself to slavery in quest to acquire a better life that he will never find.
These are the kind of things we see in the cities. And they are the reason someone will wake up by 3am to go to work and return home by 10pm. For what? Just to pay for the things that can actually be gotten for free in the village or 100times cheaper in some low budget neighborhoods.
Imagine this Akpu that can be gotten for less than #300 been sold in a shopping mall for that kind of amount yet we buy after the stress. The worst is these kind of things are heavily adulterated. The ones in village are far better.
Man is indeed the only animal who has refused to be who he was created to be.

The information age has brought with it a decline in attention spans and an increase in screen fatigue. Our brains are bombarded with distracting alerts and notifications day in day out. They respond to these signals with an increase in the stress hormone cortisol. As a result, we are physically unable to concentrate and process large amounts of information.
So how do we approach this problem in the classroom?

*PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHING METHODS*
The primary teaching classroom stands out as a very dynamic environment where students from different backgrounds with varying abilities and personalities are brought together. It is thus important to be an effective teacher who can implement the creative and innovative teaching strategies in order to meet the individual needs of the students. Whether you have been in the teaching profession for two months or twenty years, knowing the right teaching method to choose that will work best for the students is far from an easy task. You may find the job a little easier if you have taken a course for primary school teachers.
A teacher cannot be expected to enjoy the benefits of a one-size-fits-all solution. In that regard, here is a look at a range of effective teaching strategies that can be used for inspiring the classroom while on a primary teaching.
*👉Active Listening is the Most Important Skill for Primary Teaching:*
Active listening can be used as a teaching method to assist the children who may lack the verbal skills necessary to express themselves fully. Active listening is in many ways similar to play-by-play sportscasting where teachers describe activities and behaviors to the children while performing the action. Active listening techniques taught during every primary teacher training program also help at the moment of exchange between students when feeling remain improperly expressed. Not only is active listening of big assistance in helping to resolve classroom conflicts, it also provides an aid to teachers by streaming directions and information to the primary students.
*👉Constructive Feedback:*
Offering positive feedback is one way a primary educator can help educate and guide the students. Constructive feedback offers direct praise for a job well done. By incorporating this method into the classroom, teacher acknowledge the children when they are carrying out some task or following directions. It also gives encouragement to other children to follow the lead of the child who has just received praise. Praising a child for good behavior has a far better impact than punishing a student who is having a hard time following the rules.
*👉Peer Teaching:*
Children exhibit a sense of trust and interest in each other – this can be a focus area for teachers as a prospective method of teaching. Peer teaching provides encouragement to the children to help each other and also to work together. If one child is excelling in an area where another child is experiencing difficulty then by teaming the two together in a joint project, they will be encouraged to learn from one another. Peer teaching as a primary teacher can also help in individual projects that can be presented to the peers.
*👉Task Lists:*
Working together often gives encouragement to learning and community building among the children. Creating classroom lists or job charts is a means of listing and tracking the daily duties that need completion. The student of primary school should be allowed to select who is in charge for the day and who gets to complete specific tasks mentioned on the slit. Working together provides encouragement to classroom harmony and allows the children to take turns in terms of being in charge of a task. This further enables development of self-esteem and encourages communication.
*👉Behavior Management:*
Having in place an effective behavior management strategy is crucial in primary teaching for gaining the respect of the students and ensuring that they have an equal chance of reaching their full potential. Noisy, disruptive classroom do not provide encouragement for a productive learning environment so, developing an atmosphere of mutual respect through a combination of reward and discipline can prove beneficial for both the teacher and the students.
Some of the ideas that can be put in place are fun and interactive reward charts for the younger students where they can move up or down based on their behavior while the top students earn a prize at the end of the week.
*👉Staying Educated:*
A key aspect often highlighted as part of a course for primary school teachers is to keep oneself abreast of the developments in the field. While many of the aspects of primary teaching are largely focused on teacher-to-student interactions, the educators can make use of professional development tools and outside learning options for their personal knowledge development. By staying updated on the trends and ideas in primary education, teachers can introduce these new ideas and teaching methods into the classroom for more effective communication of their instructions thus helping to make learning more constructive in the classroom.
It can be a challenge to prove oneself as an effective primary teacher because every student is unique. However, with the right combination of teaching strategies their varying learning styles and academic capabilities can be addressed while also making the classroom a dynamic and motivational environment for the students to thrive in.
*Thanks.✍*

*IMPROVING SLOW LEARNERS*
Not every child can learn at a fast pace or same pace. Therefore, it is very paramount for educator to recognize the uniqueness of each student quickly, so as to make learning more effective for each child.
Educators and parents play pivotal roles in a slow learner’s life. Their support and motivation go a long way to help such children overcome their hurdles. This duly signifies that educators and parents have added responsibility from schools and society toward them.
Also, school owners should ensure they get the best hands on deck for their students. The best of educators should be employed so as not to leave any child behind on the learning course and living up to the standard.
Creating a healthy and conducive environment for a slow learner is of utmost importance to improve their pace. Often, educators who have a slow learner in their class face grave problems: keeping up with the term syllabus, fear of losing empathy toward such students, and many others. Here are few motivation tips for educators to help them cope with at least the basic issues.
*TIPS ON HOW TO TEACH SLOW LERNERS*
1. BE PATIENT WITH SLOW LEARNERS📌
The foremost aspect of teaching a slow learner is that the educator should be patient and consistent throughout the entire process. The core problem of slow learners’ education is their weak cognitive skills coupled with the slow speed learning. An educatorr has to be understanding and patient toward their ability to get distracted easily and have a low attention span. Moreover, educators must find creative ways to cope with this situation so that the entire class is not affected. One of them is patient repetition. Try repeating every basic instruction, keyword and concept time and again without being boring. Do not over speak, but over teach.
Recognize this tip and ensure measures are put in place to ensure the benchmark of credible institution.
2. INTRODUCE INNOVATIVE TOOLS AND TAKEAWAYS 📌
A very thoughtful tool to help slow learners at school and home is to introduce innovative and exciting methods of learning. A major factor with slow learners is their concentration and focus.
As educators and parents, you can propose board games, interactive books, STEM toys, worksheets, activities, and more. Hand out special cheat sheets, mini dictionaries, or visually graphic information sheets. One good idea is to give lesson pamphlets for pinning them to their soft boards so that they are surrounded by constant reminders of lessons.
3. ENGAGE FELLOW CLASSMATES IN YOUR EFFORTS📌
Teach the other students to empathize with the special students. Especially ask them not to bully or tease slow learners. Inform them about their condition and how they could make a difference. Ensure you have these timely sessions in the slow learner absence.
4. PROVIDE MINIMUM HOMEWORK 📌
We all agree that homework although with its benefits is more of a burden for a child and her parent. Slow learners, in particular, find it difficult to be attentive throughout the school day, let alone coming home and completing assignments. For such children, quality matters over quantity. Having minimum assignment would help them understand learning and reduce their anxiety. This, in turn, would maintain their enthusiasm toward school. An educator can assign and alter homework personally and leave out small details that may be of little importance. For example, an assignment of writing an essay on an English chapter could be modified to reading the chapter twice, and telling the summary to the educator, would be a better idea.
5. LET A BUDDY TEACH📌
Peer tutoring works better for slow learners. When their educators are of the same age, they get encouraged. Let them select 1 or 2 of their friends to form a study group. Assign the study group the task of reiterating the new teachings of the day and assisting with assignment.
6. ENCOURAGE AND TEACH THE RIGHT THINGS📌
Invite them to come forward during art classes, school activities, or volunteering. Recognize and reward their participation. This would do wonders for their self-confidence. Teach special skills rather than unnecessary skills. This may include following the correct instruction words (count, color, circle, etc.) or listening and focusing on keywords. Remember the main goal is to make them self-sufficient.
7. PRAISE AND RAISE THEM📌
It is necessary that you encourage kids at school and home. A little pat on the back and appreciation goes a long way, trust me. Encouragement and admiration in front of their fellow classmates will definitely boost their confidence and instill a sense of victory and achievement.
8. ENCOURAGE CONSTANT PARENT- EDUCATOR ASSOCIATION📌
Work very closely with their parents. Ensure the assignment and tasks assigned are successfully completed on a daily basis. Be accessible and open to communication. Make sure to listen out to parents’ problems and help to solve them. Conduct special meetings for their parents apart from the general PTA meetings.
Lastly, a few *DONT’S:*🔥✍️
Do not reprimand in front of the class. You may do that in private.
Do not emphasize writing, concentrate on reading. Oral education is more beneficial for them.
Do not let them quit trying. Encourage them to continue their hard work to complete their tasks even if it means postponing it.
Do not be overprotective. Let their slow learning not become their introduction.
Practicing math worksheets can help in improving skill. This target at a specific skill like addition, time, division and many more. Along with these worksheets, great practice comes with playing social math games that are holistic in nature.
Provide a platform for children to imbibe a culture of academic distinction, standing tall and making a positive mark on everyone they come in contact with.

TEACHERS ARE MILLIONAIRES
Before you start reading, please note, this post is not for everybody.
It is for those who are seeing the big picture and ready to change the negative mindset to a positive mindset.
There are people who believed, nothing good can come out from this great profession. That's a poor mindset if you ask me.
As a teacher, there is something you carry that is worth more than millions.
The knowledge you carry about can make or mar you.
But, of what importance is the knowledge without information on how to use it?
You and other teachers are only after the negative stories of the profession.
If you don't see anything good about your job, don't expect a banker or any other person to see something good in it.
You must first see it and allow others to see it too.
Hence, stop looking for what has kept you in a cage called poor mindset but focus on the opportunities in the profession.
What brought about this article is about a young man who does tutorials for some students in lagos state university.
This is what he does, he pays some undergraduates a token to tell students in their departments about his tutorials.
Guess what, he has dominated lagos state university.
The young man has a Youtube channel and of course, he is on Instagram, making his money.
In fact, he just launched his app.
He knows his onions. He has this confidence about himself and what he does. Yes, you can call it bragging right.
He knows maths, further, chemistry and physics as if he is the founding father of these subjects.
Did I tell you that, this guy drives Benz? Yes, he drives Benz.
Where did he get the money from? From this same teaching.
As a teacher what's your area of specialization? What's your bragging right?
There must be something that you must know that will take money from people's pocket and pay you.
The era of seeing a teacher putting on the same old shoes, clothes and baggy trousers is over.
"Spruce up" yourself and look good. I know small minds will say, from which salary? That's why I said the article is not for everybody
You are a teacher doesn't mean, you should not look good.
I remember as a classroom teacher, someone once came to my house that I should look for a job for him in the bank where I work.
He thought I was a banker because of the way I dress.
I was seeing a lot of opportunities. I had a club called skyladders tutors academy(sky) just for weekend classes.
I was making money and was not shouting about it. I had budgeted and plan for my financial goals.
I didn't allow negative talks to discourage me.
Look, there are a lot of untapped opportunities in this profession.
The advantages this century teachers have, teachers before now don't have them.
Social media has made some teachers millionaire.
Even offline, there are many things you can tap into and make money as a teacher.
Recently, I was telling a young man about how he can turn himself to become a celebrity teacher by teaching physics and chemistry.
This young man knows these subjects like pure water. He is a resourceful teacher. This is the type of teacher that many schools are looking for.
Just like there are millionaire bankers, lawyers, there are also millionaire teachers out there.
What are you doing differently to tap into this untapped market?
Think, create and act. There is always a market for information that is well packaged.
Till I write again.
