Nothing encourages a teacher more than receiving genuine, positive feedback from learners.

There are days I question the process, moments when progress feels too slow, and I wonder if I’m doing things right. But then come the kind words, the testimonies, the "thank yous", from both my online and in-person learners, and I’m reminded that impact takes time.

Grateful to God for the journey so far, and even more grateful for the lives being touched through it.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦)

Construction questions can be easy marks — if you know what you’re doing.

But unfortunately, many students lose points on these questions because of avoidable errors.

Here are some common mistakes students make during construction:

1. 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬: This makes arcs inaccurate — always check your compass before the exam.

2. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲: Even if your drawing is perfect, unclear or missing labels can cost you marks.

3. 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬: Keep construction lines neat and light — clarity matters!

4. 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Examiners want to see full steps — not just the final line!

5. 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐫: A straight edge is your best friend. Wobbly lines = lost marks.
