Before you start, have these in mind:

1.Child’s age & grade level
2. Teaching style you want (Charlotte Mason, Montessori, Unit Study, etc.)
3. Subjects to cover (Qur’an, Arabic, Maths, English, Science, etc.)
4. Resources you already have (books, games, online resources)
5. Your daily/weekly time for lessons
6. Your budget

Step 1: Be Specific With Your Questions
ChatGPT works best with clear instructions.
Instead of:

> “Create a homeschool curriculum.”

Say:

> “Create a Charlotte Mason–inspired weekly homeschool plan for a 6-year-old girl, focusing on Qur’an, Arabic, English, and Science. I have Usborne Science Encyclopedia, Songbirds Phonics Readers, and a local park for nature study.”

Step 2: Build in Stages
Ask for a yearly overview
Ask for a subject breakdown
Ask for a weekly plan
Ask for a daily schedule
Ask for activities & project ideas

Step 3: Refine & Personalize
Read what ChatGPT gives, keep what you like, and change what you don’t.
You can say things like:

“Make it simpler.”
“Add more Islamic studies.”
“Replace the book with a free resource.”
“Fit the plan into 2 hours per day.”

Step 4: Add Your Child’s Interests
Mix in:
Local learning trips (parks, libraries, museums)
Cultural elements (foods, festivals, language)
Special interests (animals, art, history, etc.)

Step 5: Use ChatGPT for Ongoing Help
You can also ask it to:
1. Create worksheets
2. Find project ideas
3. Make reading questions
4. Adapt lessons for your child’s level
5. Plan unit studies around a book

💡 I can also give you a cheat sheet of prompts so you know exactly what to type when creating your curriculum.

🦓📚 Our Homeschool Focus for the Next Two Months 🌿✍️
Before diving into First Grade lessons, we’re taking a gentle and intentional pause with a special focus on letter formation, number recognition, and pre-copywork skills through a beautiful resource:

🎨✨ The Animal ABC & Numbers Book (Waldorf-Inspired)

This lovely rhythm will guide our days as we journey from Alligator to Zebra while exploring numbers 1 to 26 with poems, stories, games, and art.

Each week, we’ll meet three new animal friends linked to a letter sound and pair them with creative movement, stories, nature play, and early handwriting practice using:

✏️ Form drawing
🖍️ Crayon work
📓 Large letter tracing
🎨 Simple drawing prompts
🎵 Songs & movement for memory

Rather than jumping into copywork right away, our goal is to build confidence and comfort with forming letters – building a strong, joyful foundation before formal writing begins in First Grade.

We'll also revisit our numbers with gentle math stories, counting games, and hands-on number play.

---

🎯 Our Goals for This Season:
✨ Develop strong fine motor skills
✨ Practice consistent and clear letter formation
✨ Build confidence with numbers 1–26
✨ Celebrate the rhythm of learning through stories, nature, and art
✨ Prepare for the transition to copywork and structured lessons in First Grade

---

We’ll be sharing bits of our journey weekly, insha’Allah – feel free to follow along, or reach out if you want to create something similar in your home!

🌱📖 May this season be slow, sweet, and filled with wonder.

Literature based Education
Literature-Based Education is an educational approach that uses real books—especially high-quality, often classic or contemporary works of literature—instead of textbooks to teach various subjects, particularly language arts. It emphasizes reading, discussion, critical thinking, and writing through engagement with stories, novels, biographies, and other narrative forms.

Key Features:

Use of real literature: Instead of simplified or condensed versions, students read complete, authentic books.

Integrated learning: Literature becomes a base for teaching writing, grammar, vocabulary, history, social studies, and even moral or philosophical lessons.

Discussion-driven: Encourages deep conversations about themes, character development, and ideas.

Student engagement: Often fosters a love for reading and a more personal connection to material.

Benefits:
Promotes critical thinking and empathy.
Develops strong language and comprehension skills.
Allows for exploration of diverse cultures and perspectives.
