Federal Polytechnic Daura Explores Talent of Smart School Daura Students*
The Rector, Federal Polytechnic Daura, Dr. Musa Gambo K.K., led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Smart School Daura. The team included the Acting Director of ICT, Engr. Sanunu, the ICT Coordinator, Abdulazeez Alhassan Mashi, the Head of Department, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology, as well as other staff members of the Polytechnic.
The delegation was warmly received by the Director-General and Principal of the school, Halima Lawal Daura, who conducted the team round various sections of the institution. Smart School Daura comprises the following divisions:
1. ECCD Section
2. Primary Section
3. Junior Secondary (JSS 1–3) Section
4. Special Needs Section
During the tour, the Rector and his team visited classrooms and various specialized units, where they were impressed with the high standard of digital facilities and learning tools. The school learning environment is designed to place students at the center of digital learning, with access to modern gadgets such as smart boards, mini laptops, and other innovative technologies of the 21st century.
Remarkably, the students demonstrated several of their creative digital projects, including:
* Sharp Street Sweeper 2.1- smart sweeper machine with a round roller
* Street Sweeper Pen 2.0- multi-purpose sweeper on highway
* Sharp Traffic Assistant- A human traffic robot use for road indicator to road users
* AI Detective Life- used for security and surveillance
* Rubber Drone-
* Three-Dimensional Printer- used for fabrication of equipment and production
In his closing remarks, Dr. Musa Gambo commended the management and staff of Smart School Daura for their innovative mindset and commitment to digital education. He emphasized that Federal Polytechnic Daura, is keen on exploring collaborative opportunities, particularly in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Engineering Technology, which align with the Polytechnic core mandate.
The Rector further expressed the Polytechnic readiness to support Smart School Daura in any possible way as part of a mutual partnership aimed at promoting technological advancement and innovation in education.
