APPOINTMENT OF NEW VICE-CHANCELLOR FOR YOBE STATE UNIVERSITY DAMATURU

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, Chiroman Gujba, has approved the appointment of Professor Mohammed Bashir Tahir as the Substantive Vice-Chancellor of Yobe State University, Damaturu.

The appointment was approved following a recommendation by the University's Governing Council at its extraordinary meeting held on January 15, 2026.
Prof. Mohammed Bashir is a Professor of General Surgery and a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons. Until his appointment, he was the Medical Director of the Ultra-Modern Police Hospital, Damaturu
