On behalf of YOBE STATE UNIVERSAL BASIC EDUCATION BOARD I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Alh. Baba mallam wali Mni, on his re-appointment as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) by His Excellency, Governor Mai MalaBuni (CON).

ALH. BABA MALLAM WALI appointment is a perfect fit and it comes at an opportune moment when his wealth of experience will significantly enhance this administration's efforts to sustain and bolster the social and political development of the state.

Having served as Secretary to the State Government at last tenure expertise will greatly contribute to the effective implementation of government policies and programs and enhance the coordination of activities across the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Government.

THE CHANGING FACE OF PRIMARY EDUCATION IN YOBE STATE.

" Work to ensure that democracy as a form and process of Government remain meaningful and relevant to meet the material needs of the people in a political and effective manner ".

" No gainsaying the fact that primary or elementary education remains the bedrock and foundation of educational development of any society which its importance cannot be overemphasized".

This statement by His Excellency, Gov. MaiMalaBuniCON, during the foundation laying or flagged - off ceremony Modern Store in Damaturu.

He is barely four years by May 29, 2023 in office but the impact of his administration are felt here and there. One can say without fear of any contradiction that the adminstration of H.E Gov MaiMalaBuni CON, has so far achieved so much within the period, especially in his effort in changing the face of primary and junior secondary schools in Yobe State.

For example; State Universal Basic Education Board through the adminstration of Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, had approved the accessed of State Government's counter part fund and the FGN/UBEC Matching Grants for the years and utilised funds in line with the public procurement act for projects ( Model Nusery, primary and junior secondary schools).

In this wise, the present administration of His Excellency, Gov. Buni, would go down in our democratic history as one that positively changed the face of primary and junior secondary school education in the State.

Worth of note, also is the tirelessly commitment being put in by the man at the helm of affairs at the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board, Prof. Musa Alabe FNSE ( Shettima ilmubeofDamaturu ), the Executive Chairman of the Board has put his feet down and bring his vast experience to bear on the board's activities, which is the agency of government that has been directly behind the construction of these classrooms in the State.

After all " Education For All is the Responsibility of All ".

Yobe State Governor H.E Gov Mai Mala Buni will today begin the commissioning of additional MEGA primary schools in Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State. This according to the government is part of its determination to ensure that pupils and students of public schools in the state get quality education in befitting environments.

Education Takes The Lead As Yobe Prepares To Receive President Buhari

As the preparations to receive President Muhammadu Buhari hits top gear, education has taken the lead as the Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education and the Universal Basic Education Board are working round the clock putting finishing touches to Schools for the successful commissioning by Mr President.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Mohammed Sani Idriss said, the Buni administration continues to prioritise education as its critical to the growth and development of the state, adding they are putting finishing touches to the schools for successful commissioning by the President Muhammadu Buhari.

"We are working to ensure that no stone is left unturned towards successful commissioning of the schools by Mr President as education has remained the priority of the Buni administration".

Also commenting at the site of the Modern School at New Bra-Bra quarters billed for commissioning by the President, Prof. Musa Alabe , the Executive Chairman, Yobe State Universal Education Board, said that the School boast of all modern facilities for conducive teaching and learning.

He said that the Schools were designed with modern classrooms, offices, laboratories, libraries, ICT centers, clinics and hostels among others.

Prof. Alabe added that adequate arrangements has been put in place for the commencement of academic activities in the Schools immediately after the commissioning by the President.

He reiterated government's commitment to increase investment to facilitate infrastructural development and provision of modern teaching facilities in schools across the state.

YBHA COMMEND YOBE SUBEB CHAIRMAN ON EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE

Yobe State House of Assembly (YBHA) has commended the Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. Musa Alabe FNSE for his excellent performance in the basic education sub-sector.

Members of the House made this known during the Board’s (SUBEB) budget defence held on, Tuesday 22nd November at the Yobe State House Assembly Complex.

While expressing his satisfaction with the Board’s Performance, the Chairman, Finance and Appropriation Committee, of the House urged the Board to remain committed and to do more for the betterment of the education sub-sector.
