1. DEFAMATORY AND UNPROFESSIONAL REPORT ON SA’ADU ZUNGUR UNIVERSITY BY ALBARKA RADIO
The Alumni Association of Sa’adu Zungur University, Bauchi (SAZU), expresses its strong disapproval of a recent false and misleading report broadcast by Albarka Radio Bauchi, which attempted to malign the reputation of our prestigious university and its students following the recent NUBASS screening exercise.
We condemn this unprofessional and defamatory act in the strongest terms, as it represents a deliberate attempt to discredit the university’s image and its outstanding record of academic and moral excellence.
Accordingly, the Alumni Association hereby issues a 72-hour (3-days ultimatum) to Albarka Radio to publicly retract and debunk the misleading report through the same medium of broadcast. Failure to comply will compel the Association to take appropriate legal and institutional actions to defend and protect the image of Sa’adu Zungur University, Bauchi and its alumni community.
2. STATEMENT ON THE RECENT INCIDENT IN THE FACULTY OF LAW
In view of a recent incident involving a few individuals within the Faculty of Law, the Alumni Association of Sa’adu Zungur University wishes to address the situation and reassure the general public, the university community and all alumni of our institution’s continued commitment to excellence, discipline and integrity.
A. The University Management has promptly constituted a Faculty Committee and a University Disciplinary Committee to thoroughly investigate the matter in line with due process and institutional regulations.
B. All parties involved have been invited by the Faculty Committee to present their sides of the case, ensuring fairness, transparency, and justice.
C. The Management has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward any form of misconduct capable of undermining the university’s values and reputation.
The University Community has strongly condemned the act and pledged full cooperation with the ongoing investigation to ensure that appropriate measures are taken.
D. The Management has assured the public that any individual found guilty will face the full disciplinary consequences as provided by the University’s rules and regulations.
Sa’adu Zungur University remains an institution known for moral discipline, academic excellence and professionalism, with the overwhelming majority of its staff being upright, responsible, and highly respected.
E. The Alumni Association urges members of the public and the university community to avoid spreading unverified information and to trust the Management’s handling of the issue.
F. The University reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding students, staff, and all stakeholders, while ensuring a conducive environment for learning and personal development.
G. The Alumni Association commends the University Management for its swift and transparent response, demonstrating strong leadership and adherence to ethical standards.
H. Finally, we wish to remind everyone that challenges of this nature are not unique to any single institution globally; what defines great universities is their ability to confront issues decisively and uphold their integrity as Sa’adu Zungur University is presently doing.
3. NOTICE OF ALUMNI ACTIVITIES
In another development, the Alumni Association wishes to inform all members that an Emergency Congress Meeting has been scheduled to hold November 15th 2025 at the Misau Campus, Faculty of Law. All members are urged to attend as critical matters concerning the welfare and image of the Association and the University will be discussed.
Furthermore, the Association is delighted to announce that its Annual/Inaugural Alumni Lecture has been scheduled for December 27th 2025, in Bauchi. The venue and time will be communicated soon.
The Alumni Association of Sa’adu Zungur University remains steadfast in promoting unity, academic excellence and integrity while defending the honor and image of our alma mater.
