‎NYSC @ 53: NYSC BAUCHI CELEBRATES SCHEME'S IMPACTS ON NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

‎The NYSC , Bauchi State Secretariat led by the State Coordinator, Mr. Kufre Umoren joined other NYSC formations nationwide to mark the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of the NYSC and it's impacts on national unity, integration and contributions to national growth and development.

‎The colourful ceremony took place today at the NYSC Bàuchi Local Government Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Bàuchi.

‎The event which brought together staff of the scheme, corps members and stakeholders from across the state provided opportunity for those present to extol the scheme's contributions to the development of the nationwide.

‎The State Coordinator in his address at event praised the founding fathers of the scheme for its establishment. He particularly appreciated General Yakubu Gowon and his team for their foresight. He said without any doubt, the NYSC remains one of Nigeria's most strategic platform for national unity and development.

‎He pointed out the many contributions of the NYSC to the development of Bàuchi state and the nation in general, especially in areas of education, healthcare delivery, community development projects.

‎Mr Umoren also praised the patriotism and loyalty of successive batches of corps members over the years who served the nation on the platform of the NYSC. He equally praised the gallant and committed staff of the scheme who have served the scheme diligently to ensure the continuity of the noble ideas of the scheme.

‎Finally, he appreciated the Bàuchi state government and the good people of the state for their support to the scheme over the years.

‎The State Coordinator led staff and corps members and guests in cutting the anniversary cake.

Every year opens a new chapter in the remarkable book of the NYSCs history. Today, we inscribe the first words on the blank page, marking the 365 days of the 53rd chapter of our beloved scheme.

We are not mere spectators but proud actors and actresses in this ongoing narrative. Our heroes of the past have played their part with distinction, passing the baton to us. Now, it rests firmly in our grip as we strive to consolidate and build upon the enviable legacy they established.
Ours is the noble duty to keep refining, innovating, and advancing the objectives of the NYSC.

To our dedicated staff: your tireless efforts and unwavering commitment are the backbone of the scheme.
Day after day, year after year, you ensure the smooth running of our operations, provide guidance, nurture growth, and maintain the high standards that define the NYSC. Your resilience and excellence keep the vision alive and thriving.

As part of our annual celebration, management has instituted a Long Service Award to honour staff who have served up to 30 years. In recognition of their dedication, the beneficiaries will receive certificates during this anniversary. This initiative reflects our deep appreciation for your loyalty and immense contributions to the growth of the NYSC.

To our corps members: you are the lifeblood of this scheme, bringing fresh energy, ideas, and enthusiasm each year. As you serve, learn, and grow, you add new dimensions to the NYSCs impact across our nation.
Though each batch moves on, your collective contributions keep the wheels of progress turning and advance the scheme's objectives.

BATCH A, STREAM II ORIENTATION COURSE ENDS IN BAUCHI STATE; CORPS MEMBERS TOLD TO RESPECT CULTURE AND TRADITIONS OF THEIR HOST COMMUNITIES.

‎The 2026 Batch A, stream II orientation course for corps members deployed to Bàuchi state ended today at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

‎The state Coordinator, NYSC Bauchi state, Mr Kufre Umoren in his address at the closing ceremony urged the corps members to respect the culture and traditions of their host communities in order to leave in peace and harmony with them.

‎Mr. Umoren charged the corps members to ensure that they leave their host communities better than they would meet them through community development projects. He further charged them to prioritize community development service in any community they find themselves as that is the easiest way to endear themselves to the members of their host communities.

‎He equally warned them against keeping late nights, engaging themselves in the local politics of their host communities, unauthorized journeys amongst other acts that can expose them to security risks.

‎The NYSC Boss expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the Corps members during the period of the orientation exercise, describing them as law abiding, loyal, patriotic and committed to the service of the fatherland.

‎The Coordinator applauded the Bauchi state government under the leadership of Sen. Bala Mohammed for standing by the NYSC in the state. He particularly thanked the Governor for the construction of a brand new Multipurpose Hall and the renovation of the the corps members' hostels.

‎He assured the people and government of the state that the corps members will continue to contribute their quota to the development of the state and the nation in general.

‎A major highlight of the occasion was the presentation of letters of commendation to corps members and camp officials who were outstanding in their assignments during the orientation exercise.

‎ZOH FULANI AND SABON GIDA COMMUNITIES BENEFIT FROM NYSC HIRD IN BAUCHI STATE.

‎The second quarter of the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers(HIRD) in Bauchi state was held today at SUBEB Primary School, Zoh Fulani and Sabon Gida Communities of Ganjuwa Local Government of the state.

‎The State Coordinator, NYSC, Bauchi state, Mr Kufre Umoren in his address at the occasion said the HIRD is an initiative of the NYSC Management aimed at taking quality medical care to indigent people in rural communities across the federation.
‎He noted that since the commencement of the programme more than a decade ago, many communities have benefitted across the nation and particularly in Bàuchi state.

‎He urged the members of the community to prioritize their health, go to hospital when sick, sleep under mosquito treated nets and maintain simple hygiene such as handing washing.

‎Mr Umoren assured them that being one of the camp host communities, they will continue to benefit from the NYSC in programmes such as the HIRD and similar programmes that may come up.

‎The Village of Zoh Fulani/Sabon Gida Communities, Malam Ardo Ahmadu thanked the NYSC for bringing the HIRD to his community. Malam Ahmadu said the medical intervention has helped his people to access free quality health care which has saved them the cost of travelling to the hospital in Soro , Darazo or Bàuchi.

‎The Village Head assured the NYSC management that they will continue to partner with the NYSC and the security agencies to secure the NYSC camp and the facilities therein.

‎About three hundred people in the community benefitted from the programme as over ten corps medical personnel were on hand to attend to them.

SC BAUCHI TELLS CORPS MEMBERS TO BE PROUD AMBASSADORS OF THEIR CULTURE.

‎The State Coordinator, NYSC Bauchi state, Mr Kufre Umoren has told corps members to be proud ambassadors of their culture wherever they find themselves.
‎The Coordinator said this today during the cultural Carnival for the 2026 Batch A, stream II orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area Bàuchi state.

‎The Coordinator informed the corps members that the cultural Carnival was included in the orientation course content expose them to the diverse cultures of other tribes.

‎Mr. Umoren described Nigeria as a country very rich in culture with over two hundred and fifty different ethnic groups with unique culture, traditions and languages. He said this cultural diversity is one of the binding cords that sustains Nigeria and must consequently be preserved.

‎The event featured cultural procession by the 10 platoons representing different tribes and cultures such as Atyab in Kaduna state, Tarok in Plateau state, Siyawa in Bàuchi state, Tangale in Gombe state, Kanuri in Borno state, Hausa/Fulani amongst others

‎At the end of the event, Platoon 8 emerged winners of the cultural competition, while Platoon 7 came second with platoon 6 at the third position.

‎PRIORITIZE POST CAMP TRAINING; SC BAUCHI TELLS CORPS MEMBERS

‎The State Coordinator, NYSC Bauchi state Mr Kufre Umoren has urged corps members to prioritize the Skill Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) post camp training to gain mastery of their chosen skills, having completed the in camp training. He said the in-camp training was just an introduction but the post camp training would bring the perfection.

‎The State Coordinator gave the charge today, during the Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Batch 'A' stream II SAED In Camp Training at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi state.

‎He noted that with the introduction of SAED, Nigerian graduate youths do not have any reason to roam about the streets looking for white collar jobs anymore since the Federal government and NYSC has provided opportunity for self reliance through SAED.

‎He further urged the corps members to take their destinies in their own hands by embracing SAED training and setting up small businesses that may later blossom into multinational conglomerates.

‎Earlier, the Head of SAED Committee in the Camp, Malam Khamisu Ahmed appreciated the Federal government and the management of NYSC for the opportunity given to the corps members to become entrepreneurs and self reliant.

‎Malam Khamisu advised the corps members to take full advantage of the programme by also engaging in the post camp training during the period of their primary assignment.

‎The event featured inter-platoon skill competition on tailoring which platoon 8 won with platoons 1 and 9 in the second and third positions respectively.

‎There was also exhibition of products made by corps members during the in-camp training.

‎CORPS MEMBERS TOLD TO IMBIBE VIRTUES LEARNT THROUGH DRILLS.

‎The State Coordinator, NYSC Bauchi State, Mr Kufre Umoren has told corps members to abide by the virtues of team work, discipline, coordination and focus learnt through military drills. He said these virtues align completely with the core values of the National Youth Service Corps.

‎The Coordinator said this today during the inter platoon Drills Competition for the 2026 Batch A, stream II orientation course held today at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi state.

‎The state coordinator, commended the resilience and commitment of the corps members to learning new things in the camp. He noted that the performance of the corps members in the drills competition is nothing short of excellence and it showed that they ready and willing to contribute their quota to national development.

‎Mr Umoren urged the corps members to go with this level of zeal and patriotism displayed to their places of primary assignment so that they can leave lasting legacies at the end of their service year.

‎The competition provided opportunity for corps members to display amazing skills and competence in military drills to admiration of all camp officials and visitors alike.

‎At the end of the competition, the Chief Judge, Capt. HM Gaji from the 33 Artillery Brigade, Bàuchi declared platoon number 7 as the winner of the competition, with platoon 4 at the second position while platoon 8 emerged at the third position.

‎NYSC BAUCHI CROWNS MISS BIG, BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL; MR CUTE AND CHARMING.

‎NYSC Bàuchi has crowned the Miss Big, Bold and Beautiful and Mr Cute and Charming for the 2026 Batch A, stream II orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bàuchi State.

‎At the end of the glamorous event witnessed by Camp officials and corps members Platoon 5 emerged winner in the Mr cute and charming category while Platoons 7and 3 occupied the second and third positions respectively.

‎Similarly, in the Miss Big, Bold and Beautiful category, platoon 8 won while Platoons 7 and 2 followed in the second and third positions.

‎The State Coordinator, NYSC, Bauchi State, Mr Kufre Umoren congratulated the winners and declared that all the contestants were all winners.

‎Prizes were presented to the winners.

NITDA AND 'MIND THE GAP' TAKE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LITERACY TO NYSC BAUCHI CAMP.

‎The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and 'Mind the Gap' a non-governmental organisation today organised an inter-platoon debate competition at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bàuchi state for the 2026 Batch 'A', stream II orientation course.

‎The debate titled : 'Why NYSC is the Most Strategic Platform To Accelerate Inclusive AI Literacy And Competence in Nigeria' saw a robust debate from the debaters representing the different platoons in the camp advancing the the importance and place of NYSC in midwifing national development programmes.

‎They argued that if corps members are trained in AI Literacy, they can in turn train so many other across the country bringing AI literacy to the remotest part of the country given the national spread and pe*******on of the NYSC in the country.

‎The debaters praised the government for establishing and sustaining the NYSC which they described as a viable platform for the development of the country.

‎The State Coordinator, NYSC , Bàuchi State, Mr. Kufre Umoren while declaring the competition open appreciated Mind the Gap for being a worthy partner in the training of Nigerian youths for national development.

He urged the corps members to imbibe the lessons learnt and make themselves willing agents of propagating development programmes such as AI literacy in the country.

‎Platoon 3 won the competition while platoon 9 and 1 took the second and third positions respectively.

‎Cash awards and certificates were presented to e winners.
