Gifted Talent School for the Deaf is an initiative of the founder and proprietor, Kehinde Akewusola. It was founded, in March, 2019, with the objectives of providing humanitarian and educational supports to deaf students. By contributing financially, you are supporting the education and basic needs of less privileged deaf pupils in Badagry, Lagos State.

ABOUT GIFTED TALENT SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF

Gifted Talent School for the Deaf was recently established with the educational and humanitarian objectives of providing quality education for deaf children and youths in the society to foster their moral, intellectual, physical and social development.

Gifted Talent School for the Deaf is a subsidiary of Deaf Access Enterprises, an NGO that is responsible for enlightenment and empowering deaf people in our society. We are totally dedicated to provide our students with basic needs much more than a formal education as many of these children are often neglected and are not properly taken care of by the society.

WHY WE NEED ASSISTANCE

While most parents are finding it difficult to finance the education of these children and most importantly their basic needs which include feeding, clothing and curricular activities like acquiring learning items such as books, illustrative charts and so on, the school has decided to take responsibility concerning this. We have therefore decided to make this a public awareness as we can't achieve this on our own. The continued supports and donations from individuals, organizations and even schools is needed to achieve this stated goal.

HOW YOU CAN MAKE DONATIONS

Be it an individual or an organization, all forms of donations are welcome. Your donations ensure the school can continue to provide a future for deaf children. The cost of feeding, housing and education per student is estimated to be at about ₦390,000 for one year and this is very unaffordable for many families but we can't and will never turn away any child for this reason as it is our goal to provide a future for as many deaf children as possible.

Gifted Talent School for the Deaf is a day and boarding school for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. It is a private school located in Ibereko, Badagry, Lagos State.

The school was founded by Mr Kehinde Akewusola, a deaf person who was trained and have experiences in Deaf Education. Mr Kehinde knows where the shoe pinches and will use his expertise along with his staff to impart perfect education into the pupils.

At Gifted Talent School for the Deaf, we employ deaf and special education teachers and those who understands sign language can as well teach in the school. The teachers and the staff are positively reinforced and motivated to work.

We use Nigerian Sign Language as our main language and that gives our students the self-esteem coupled with a foundation to support their educational development and life skills.

We have both elementary and secondary school.
