NOTICE ON EXTENSION OF SECOND SEMESTER AND SECOND SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS

This is to inform all staff and students that the Management has approved the extension of the Second Semester, 2025/2026 Academic Session and the Second Semester Examinations.

Consequently, The Second Semester Examinations will commence on 31st August, 2026 and end on 19th September 2026

All Heads of Departments, Course Lecturers, and Students are to take note and adjust their academic activities accordingly to fit into the new calendar.

The Management regrets any inconvenience this extension may cause and appeals for the understanding and cooperation of all.

🚨 ATTENTION FUTB STUDENTS

Dear fellow students of the Federal University of Technology Babura (FUTB),

We sincerely appreciate the ₦80,000 annual scholarship provided by the Jigawa State Government. We recognize it as a privilege and we are grateful for the support.

However, we need to look into our situation as FUTB students.

Our annual registration fees are around ₦173,000, meaning the ₦80,000 scholarship leaves about ₦93,000 still to be paid by our parents/guardians.

Meanwhile, students in some state-owned universities such as Sule Lamido University (SLU) reportedly pay around ₦20,000–₦30,000 while receiving the same ₦80,000 scholarship.

This is not about complaining or being ungrateful. It is about asking ourselves whether there is a better and fairer way to support FUTB students who face much higher registration costs.

We are therefore calling on all FUTB students, student leaders, and concerned students to come together, discuss this matter, and see how we can respectfully approach the relevant authorities for a possible review of the scholarship support.

Our parents are struggling. We cannot remain silent when there may be a better solution.

🤝 Let us discuss. Let us unite. Let us find a solution.

RELEASE OF FIRST SEMESTER 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSIONS RESULTS

I am directed to inform you that the Chairman, Senate Business Committee (SBC), has approved the release of First Semester 2025/2026 Academic Session results to students, effective today, Wednesday, 19th August, 2026.

In view of the above, all students are advised to check their results via their respective departments.

Kindly find attached the First Draft of the Second Semester Examinations Timetable for your review and observations.

All concerned students are hereby requested to carefully go through the draft timetable and forward any observations regarding:

1. Clashes
2. Omissions
3. Repetitions
4. Any other related issues

All observations, corrections, and amendments should be submitted to the Department/School Examination Officers or directly to the University Examination Officer on or before Wednesday, 19th August, 2026

*Note:* Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th August 2026 have been set aside for the receipt of all feedback.

Please note that this is a draft for internal review only. The final timetable will be released after all necessary corrections have been made.
