Sit. I'm gonna tell you a very interesting story.

There is Greg who is preparing for his exam the following day. He was nervous about his IELTS test. He kept thinking, What if I forget everything? What if I fail? His heart raced just imagining the examiner’s face.

The night before the exam, his mum gave him a broom and said, “Go sweep the yard.” Greg was confused. “Mum, tomorrow is my test. Why should I sweep?”

She smiled. “Because when you sweep, you focus on one thing at a time. You don’t think of all the dirt in the world, just the bit in front of you. That’s how you should take your test.”

Greg laughed but decided to try it. As he swept, he started to feel calm. The soft sound of the broom on the ground slowed his thoughts. The fear started to fade.

On exam day, Greg walked in like a man on a mission. Instead of panicking, he handled each question like sweeping — one at a time. No rush. No chaos. Just focus.

He passed with a high score (overall 8.5), and now he swears that broom wasn’t just for sweeping, but also for sweeping his mind clearly.

Although this story is fictional, the moral it conveys remains true.
