On Wednesday, SPE-NAU had its first in-house physical meeting and we are glad it was a success.

Those in attendance were able to grasp the lessons from the theme - STAGING YOUR INTERNSHIP WORLD FROM YEAR ONE/ IT PLACEMENTS AND SIWES HACKS taught by Dr. Onyemazuwa A. Azaka.

The program was mind-blowing and exposes one to getting and scaling through internship opportunities.

Also, a handling over ceremony was performed were old executives were appreciated with a certificate of volunteering and new excos officially sworn in and introduced to the house.

On Monday, The Ambassadorial Lecture Program which dwelt on the topic *"Navigating the New Energy Industry, Career Paths and Skillset for Sustainable Development Goals"* was one of its kind.💥

The ALP Chairperson, Engr. Patrick blessed us with his presence.
From our speaker, we were able to know the number of Sustainable Development Goals, have ideas of energy trends apart from Oil and Gas.

We understood the;
*Number 7 SDGs - Affordable and Clean Energy*⚡
*Number 13 SDGs - Climate Action*🌤️
and how it determines the progress of the energy industry.

We had SPE members who participated in the listening of Engr. Patrick's real life experiences and the Q/A Session.

The highlights from the speaker included:
-Develop the necessary technical skills to navigate the energy world.
- Get certifications and apply them.
- Develop and build yourself to be a sustainable thinker.
- Showcase your hunger for growth
- Join SPE
- Building our problem solving skills to tackle challenges in our chapter.
- Joining SPE will grant you access professionals in different segments of the new energy industry.

"Exploring Innovations in Petroleum Engineering" delves into the cutting-edge advancements and digital technologies revolutionizing the oil and gas industry.

Last month, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and Federal University of Technology, Owerri jointly hosted the Mega ALP.
The Speaker, Emmanuel Obasi, a midstream production engineer at Schlumberger (SLB) did justice to the theme "Exploring Innovations In Petroleum Engineering"

From the adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning for predictive maintenance and reservoir management to the utilization of blockchain for secure data management, this lecture Program explored how technology is reshaping traditional practices in petroleum engineering. Through the integration of robotics, drones, and IoT devices, operations are becoming safer, more efficient, and environmentally sustainable.

He outlines that as the sector embraces digitalization and innovation, stakeholders navigate towards a future characterized by enhanced productivity, reduced costs, and greater environmental stewardship in petroleum engineering.

On January 27th, 2024, SPE Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka new executives organized a wonderful technical meeting. The online workshop and seminar was meant for all the members of the Society to arouse their interest and make them understand the need to participate actively in the Society.

The title of the program was REPOSITIONING AND STANDING OUT AS A SPE MEMBER.

The google meeting was hosted by the president, Anthony Udem and moderated by Onuegbu Makuochukwu.

The speaker, Kaitochukwu Chukwudi during the lecture, spoke about the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) by explaining the importance and benefits of an SPE member. She outlined the importance and advised them on the power of networking, volunteering and taking up a leadership position in any organization they find themselves which will help them to prosper in the nearest future. The meeting was very insightful and all the students who attended the meeting confessed that they learnt a lot from her.

And we were glad it was a success.
