Jegede International School will be joining other schools worldwide to mark Neglected Tropical Diseases Day (NTD). It will be observed on Sunday 30 January 2022. To mark this event, World Health Organisation is calling on everyone to address the inequalities that characterise NTDs. NTD Day is an opportunity to re-energize the momentum to end the suffering from these 20 diseases that are caused by a variety of pathogens including viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi and toxins. The day provides an opportunity to focus on the millions of people who have limited or no access to prevention, treatment and care services. Examples of Neglected Tropical Diseased NTD are: ascariasis, Buruli ulcer, Chagas disease, dracunculiasis, hookworm infection, human African trypanosomiasis, Leishmaniasis, leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis, trachoma, and trichuriasis.
