I know that we have the right to choose
But we still need to know the truth.
Keeping the Sabbath day holy is one of the Lord's commandments.
I know some of you don't believe in the ten commandments and you think that Christ came to wipe away the 10 commandments.
Now listen....
The Ten Commandments were given by God through Moses to guide His people on how to live holy lives (Exodus 20:1–17).They show us God’s standard of righteousness and reveal His will for mankind.
But when Jesus Christ came, He did not abolish the law; instead, He fulfilled it (Matthew 5:17). The commandments were written on stone, but Jesus came to write them on our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 10:16).
Jesus summarized the Ten Commandments into two great commandments (Matthew 22:37–40)
1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.
(This covers the first four commandments about honoring God alone, not worshiping idols, not misusing His name, and keeping the Sabbath holy.)
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
(This covers the last six commandments about honoring parents, not killing, not committing adultery, not stealing, not bearing false witness, and not coveting.)
In summary,
The Ten Commandments show us our need for God, because no one can keep them perfectly by human effort. That’s why God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us. Through His death and resurrection, we are forgiven when we fail, and through His Spirit, we are empowered to live in obedience.
So, while the law shows us what is right, Jesus gives us the grace and power to live right. The commandments point us to Christ, and Christ points us back to love,love for God and love for people.
