*VCDF Meeting with SUBEB Chairman on the Brilliant Beginners Programme Update - Tuesday 7 July 2026*

- Vcare for Development Foundation (VCDF) team met with the Board Chairman, to update the Board on the Brilliant Beginners Progamme to be piloted in Ndokwa West LGA

- The *Brilliant Beginners Programme* is aimed at enhancing foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes among primary school children through the adoption of the globally recognised “Teaching at the Right Level” (TaRL) methodology.

- VCDF team shared the approval received from the Ministry of Primary Education, Delta State for the implementation.

- Tentative flow of activities and indicative timeline were shared: programme design workshop, mentor & master trainers training, teachers training, etc

- The Board Chairman remarked that they "welcome any support to improve the system" and wholly "accept the intervention".

Courtesy Visit by the Deaf and Dumb Association to Hon. Sam Mariere, Chairman, Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and Members of the Board

The Deaf and Dumb Community paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Sam Mariere, and the esteemed members of the Board. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration, promote inclusive education, and advocate for improved educational opportunities and support services for persons with hearing and speech impairments in Delta State.

During the visit, the delegation expressed appreciation for the Board's commitment to quality education and discussed ways to enhance access to inclusive learning environments for children with disabilities.
