Hello, my dear friends and followers, greetings Eniekeme Promise (admin of CHANGE BEGINS WITH Us).
Today, I want to talk about a topic which is R**E.
R**E
The term "r**e" originates from the Latin word r**ere meaning "to sn**ch, to grab, to carry off". Since the 14th century, the term has come to mean 'to seize and take away by force".

WHAT IS R**E?

R**e is a type of s*xual assault usually involving s*xual in*******se or other forms of s*xual pe*******on carried out against a person without that person's consent.
The act maybe carried out by physical force, coercion, abuse of author or against a person who is incapable of giving valid consent, such as one who is unconscious, incapacitated, has an intellectual disability or is below the legal age of consent.
R**e can occur to anyone at anywhere, any day and anytime, to either a male and mostly female.
Victims of r**e or s*xual assault comes from a wide range of genders, ages, cultures, etc.
Incidence of r**e are categorized into a number of categories, few are listed below👇
1. By reference to the situation in which it occur,
2. By identity or characteristics of the victim and
3. By the identity or characteristics of the perpetrator.

WHO IS A VICTIM?
A person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident or other event or action.

WHO IS A PERPETRATOR?
A person who perpetrates, or commits, an illegal, criminal or evil acts.
In many cultures, those who are r**ed have a high risk of suffering additional violence or threats of violence after the r**e. This can be perpetrated by the ra**st, friends, or relatives of the ra**st. The intent can be to prevent the victim from reporting the r**e. Other reasons for threats against the those assaulted is to punish them for reporting it, or of forcing them to withdraw the complaint. The relatives of the person who has been r**ed may wish to prevent "bringing shame" to the family and may also threaten them. This is especially the case in cultures where female virginity is highly valued and considered mandatory before marriage; in extreme cases, r**e victims are killed in honor killings .

CAUSES OF R**E:
These are the few causes of r**e I observed from r**e cases.
1. R**e can be/ is mainly caused by impure heart

2. Indecent dressing by the female.
3. Urge for s*x and urgent need to satisfy oneself.
4. Psychological problems.

EFFECTS:
There are great deal of r**e effects, some are given below:
PHYSICAL EFFECTS:
1. Painful in*******se ( with significant other)
2. Urinary Infections
3. Non cancerous tumor in muscle wall
4. Pregnancy
5. STDs: HIV/Aids, ge***al warts, syphilis, gonorrhea, Chlamydia, etc.
PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS:
1. Self blame
2. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
3. Personality disorder
4. Sleep disorder
5. Eating disorder
6. Dissociative
7. Guilt
8. Distrust of others
9. Uneasy in everyday social situations, etc.

WORDS TO THE VICTIM:
ADVICE/CAUTION
1. Don't stay muted, speak out what you are faced with people who can be of help to you e.g the police.
2. Don't blame yourself, blaming if oneself slows or stops healing.
3. Try to forget the memories; act as if it never occur.
4. Visit a health center for medical check ups.
5. Dress the way you want to be addressed (CAUTION). Indecent dressing is one of the major cause of r**e (Deuteronomy 22:5)

WORDS TO THE PERPETRATOR:
Let this stick to your brain "r**e is against the law" of our great country and all over the world. If you are caught, you will surely pay dearly for it.

ADVICE/CAUTION:
1.If a person turns you down; seek another.
2. Deal with lust of the flesh.
3. You need self control (Proverbs 16:32 & Proverbs 25:28)

TO THE PUBLIC:
1. We should render comprehensive care that addresses both short and long term effects of r**e as they become apparent to the victim.
2. Don't despise a r**ed person, keep them company.
3. Perpetrators should be dealt with according to the law.
