A Walk That Spoke to Me
I took a quiet walk early this morning.
On my way back, I noticed someone else walking too, just like me.
Now, I know I walk fast and with good rhythm, so I decided I’d catch up with him. But as I tried to change the song playing in my ears, I looked up and saw him already farther ahead than I expected. It surprised me.
It happened again the next time I looked down to switch songs, he had gone even farther. So, I decided to pay attention. I left my playlist alone and fixed my eyes on him. That was when I noticed something: every few minutes, he jogged a little to increase his pace.
That simple observation got me thinking.
It’s the same with life. Just like Brian Tracy Brian Tracy wrote in "No Excuses" especially in that first chapter on self-discipline and personal success, "we can learn from experts" others who go a step further than we do.
I’ve walked that same path many times before, but seeing someone jog while walking too reminded me that growth often comes from inspiration. Sometimes, all it takes is seeing someone do a bit more something a little different, pushing a little harder, to realize that we, too, can do better.
Walking has its benefits. But jogging brings more.
The same way doing what we’ve always done keeps us moving, yet doing it with a little more effort brings us closer to our goals.
So today, I’m choosing to jog through life, run and eventually fly, not just walk.
Let’s all try better colors for better results.
