📌 Don’t wait until the first morning.

Let them wear the full uniform, their socks, shoes, bow tie, hair style, etc.

Check:
Is the shoe too tight?

Can they arrange their uniform themselves?

Are the socks comfortable?

*A small discomfort can make a child distracted all day.*

📌 Label everything with their name.

Ensure you write their names on:

• Water bottle
• Lunch box
• Sweater/cardigan
• School bag
• Books
• Pencil case, etc..

This prevents items from getting mixed up or lost.

📌 Rehearse the morning routine.

Ensure they begin to wake them up at the expected time

This helps the kids adjust without pressure on the first day.

📌 Many children struggle because they don't know how to ask for assistance.

Teach them the following:

• How to tell the teacher they don't understand

• How to ask to use the toilet.

• How to report if they are uncomfortable.

• How to keep their belongings safe

📌 After a long holiday, do well to restart healthy habits like:

• Reduce late-night sleeping.

• Limit excessive screen time.

• Encourage reading for 15–20 minutes daily.

• Trim their nails and hair.

• Prepare snacks/lunch ideas

MANAGING SCREEN TIME BEFORE AND DURING THE SCHOOL TERM

As we prepare for a new school term, it's time to begin helping the kids develop healthier relationships with digital devices.

Excessive screen time will affect their sleep, concentration, creativity, and academic readiness.

Gradually reducing time spent on phones, games, and television before resumption will help them adjust better to school routines.

Replace unnecessary screen time with meaningful activities such as reading, creative play, outdoor exercises, family discussions, and revision of previous lessons.

Technology is useful when properly guided, but balance is key.

Let us help our children build habits that support learning, discipline, and overall growth.

One of the greatest academic gifts you can give your child is the habit of reading.

You don't need hours.

Start with just 20 minutes every day.

Let them read a story and sometimes, read together with them.

Ask them what they understood and allow them share their favourite parts.

Most importantly, don't turn every reading session into an examination.

Make it enjoyable.
Let your child discover that books can be exciting, inspiring, and full of possibilities.

A child who reads regularly develops stronger vocabulary, better comprehension, improved confidence, and a greater appetite for learning.
