I've always wanted to bridge the gap between what learners need and how those needs are met. I remember going through some of the books early learners use and realised that most of them are far from reality—they do not meet the learners' needs. Then, I thought of publishing some of the books that were sitting as designs specifically for early learners (ages 2-6).
I shared the idea, so tey, I began to build on people's opinions, which almost discouraged me. I casually shared the designs with a publisher, thinking he was a father who would guide and offer moral support 🤣. Colour me surprised when I saw the same idea being pushed out, and the books were sold that session.
Oh my! I was so sad, but that taught me a great lesson that has stuck with me ever since.
I can't deny that people also encouraged me—good people who were willing to ensure I succeed. The book is finally out, and more are already in the making. We've been in the classroom across the board, and I can clearly tell what works and what doesn't for some learners.
The Nemoth Literacy and Colouring book is now available for my learners. This edition is for preschoolers. Some schools are already adopting it, and I'm sure they will see the difference.
