CIRCULAR TO ALL STUDENTS

STUDENTS CLEARANCE FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION SECOND SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS

I write on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga E. IGE, to remind all students of the University that the second semester examination for 2025/2026 academic session will commence soon. In preparation for the examinations, it is mandatory that all students complete their registration formalities and pay all relevant fees before the commencement of the examinations.

All students are, therefore, required to collect their examination clearance from their respective Faculty Accountants as from Friday, 3rd July, 2026.

The purpose of this Circular is to bring the above information to the attention of all students for guidance and strict compliance.

I wish all students the best in their forthcoming examinations.

GOV. AIYEDATIWA APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF PROF. T. M. OBAMUYI AS VICE-CHANCELLOR OF AAUA

Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Professor Tomola Marshal Obamuyi as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

The appointment followed the due recommendation of the Governing Council of the institution, in line with the University’s Act and extant regulations.

The Council, chaired by Dr. Tunji Abayomi, had recommended Prof. Obamuyi for the position after emerging first among 15 candidates interviewed by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board of the institution.

Professor Obamuyi, a distinguished scholar of Banking and Finance, will succeed the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga Ige.

Professor Obamuyi has held several significant academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Banking and Finance at AAUA, and the first substantive Dean of the School of Management Technology at Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).

He was awarded the "Best Professor of Banking and Finance in Africa for 2015" by the Africa Education Leadership Awards, Mauritius. He also served as Member of National Universities Commission Programme Accreditation Teams, as well as Chairperson and Subject Expert of the Review Panel for National Council for Higher Education in Namibia. He had presented conference papers in Finland, United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Ireland, Ghana, Zambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, India, and United States of America.

Obamuyi will bring to the office decades of academic excellence, administrative experience, and a strong record of research and institutional development.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence that Professor Obamuyi’s wealth of experience will consolidate the gains recorded by AAUA and take the university to greater heights in teaching, research, and community service.

The Governor urged the new Vice-Chancellor to uphold the core values of AAUA, while fostering peace, innovation, and collaboration among staff, students, and stakeholders.

He further assured that the Ondo State Government remains committed to providing the necessary support for AAUA to maintain its status as one of Nigeria’s leading state universities.
